Reserved disabled parking is available on our forecourt, and wheelchair spaces are available in both auditoriums. All disabled seating is allocated on a first-come first-serve basis as these facilities are limited due to the restricted nature of our Grade 2 listed building. To guarantee admittance we strongly recommend booking in advance via our Box Office on 01982 552555. Unfortunately wheelchair spaces are not bookable online at this time.

Wyeside stands prominently on the end of Builth Wells’ famous Wye river bridge, opposite the Llewellyn mural. The centre is only 100 metres walk from the Groe public car park, which is free from 6pm. When you leave the car park, turn left, walk past the Builth bull statue and Wyeside is facing you at the top of the rise.

HERE COMES THE SUMMER – AND WITH IT A BRAND NEW BROCHURE. Featuring an array of fantastic events and screenings, there’s plenty of opportunities to come in out of the summer heat! In September we are very pleased to be welcoming The Torch Theatre Company from Milford Haven who will perform their latest production “Oh Hello” – this one man live performance follows the life of Charles Hawtrey, one of the leading lights of the Carry On film Franchise. Directed by Peter Doran and performed by Jamie Rees, the show has sold out every one of its performances so far, receiving four and five star reviews along the way! Patrick Lynch from CBeebies is returning to Wyeside for the third year in a row – this time bringing the story of Pinocchio, one of the best loved children’s classics, to life for children over the age of 4. A little later on in the year, October 1st to be precise, the incredible Sam Lee & Friends will be dropping by! Sam has risen to dizzy heights in recent months, having won the BBC Radio 2 Folk awards for Best Traditional Track and performing at The Royal Albert Hall. The Guardian has said that his recent second album is “surely one of the albums of the year.”

OH HELLO! Thu 8 September: 7.30pm £13 Full (£11 concession)* Charles Hawtrey was one of the leading lights of the Carry On film franchise. Bubbly, energetic and extremely funny, Hawtrey was one of the best known comedy actors of the 40s, 50s and 60s but as his career waned so his behaviour became more drunken, promiscuous and eccentric, losing him many friends in an age when male homosexuality in Britain was illegal and punishable by a prison sentence. See him in this one-man show as he regales stories of 50 years in the film industry working with the likes of Alfred Hitchcock and starring in films including The Ghost of St Michael’s, Passport to Pimlico and a total of 21 Carry Ons. Hear of his hilarious run-ins with Kenneth Williams and his disdain of the Carry On producers as well as a complex relationship with his senile mother. This former Burlesque dancer, professional forager, folk singer, song collector, teacher and radio host has also now toured the world and in March 2015 released his second, equally acclaimed album, ‘The Fade in Time.’ Once again, comprised of songs learned 1st hand from the Gypsy & Traveller community, this latest recording reflects Sam's unique artistic journey. Michael Messer's Mitra is a trio comprising British blues innovator and slide guitarist, Michael Messer, Hindustani slide guitar maestro from Mumbai India, Manish Pingle, and London-based tabla player, Gurdain Rayatt. This is more than another meeting of musicians from different cultures; this is a band with its own unique sound, an exhilarating and highly accessible fusion of Delta blues and Hindustani classical music. With vocals, slide guitars and tabla, these three musicians from opposite sides of the globe create a fascinating musical journey, running from the banks of the Mississippi, via London, to Mumbai and the Ganges Delta.

ILLUMINATED LANDSCAPES From Tue 12th July - end of September 2016 Landscape and language are at the heart of this varied exhibition of photographic landscapes, digital work, woodblock prints and relief sculptures by Simon Lilly. The pieces represent over thirty years of making art and, although the styles and techniques are various, there are clear recurring themes that run throughout. The quiet and moody landscapes, though utterly Welsh, have something of the atmosphere of the T'ang poets of ancient China and the Zen monk-poets of Japan. It is the same fascination with the numinous in nature that can also be found in the earliest Medieval Welsh poetry. Simon Lilly is an artist, writer, silversmith and poet living and working in the Irfon Valley between the Cambrian Mountains and the Epynt.

While writing the short story can be an absorbing and exciting process, it can be a deceptively complex form to master; especially for the new writer.
