WGHS Say Enough is Enough
from WGHS Magazine 2020
by Wynberg Way

As Women’s Month drew to a close, we took a moment to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the senseless murder of Uyinene Mrwetyana, whilst not forgetting all those, as important, lives that have been lost to the hands of genderbased violence.

In light of this, on 24 August 2020, Wynberg Girls’ High School took a stand on the perimeter of our campus, to display our solidarity against the ongoing GenderBased Violence that plagues our country. With reports and cases surging during the lockdown; and no visible or positive changes since the GBV protests last year this time, we have once again had to stand up and say that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
The fight against GBV is not over and everyone should feel empowered and obligated to stand up for the fight against this scourge of violence.
We will continue to show our disgruntlement of the ongoing GBV as well as remembering all the dear lives lost to this ongoing war against women.
