Wyndham Physio - Dry Needling  “Dry Needling” involves inserting an acupuncture needle into a trigger point and is typically used to treat the pain associated with injuries.  A trigger point is a tender spot in a tight band of muscle which causes pain when pressed or squeezed.  They often occur as a result of neuromuscular dysfunction and in areas of musculoskeletal stress.  Everyone has trigger points but when they are deactivated it can allow for more efficient movement, increased flexibility and lead to a decrease in pain.


Wyndham Physio - Dry Needling  Dry needling is an invasive procedure which involves inserting a thin filament needle into the skin and muscle directly at a Myofascial trigger point.  The evidence base dry needling in various areas of physiotherapy, has increased substantially over the past decade.  Dry needling can be used for a variety of musculoskeletal problems. Neuromuscular dysfunction and imbalances are thought to be a primary contributing factor to the symptoms.
