PROJECT 2(Award-winning works in 2022 Yuanye Awards International competition

Instructor:Lianglu HOU

Project Introduction:Because the site is located in the old center of the city, many facilities can not adapt to the development of the times and the needs of modern residents. There was a long history and culture in the venue, but it was gradually forgotten with the accelerated pace of life. This design will create a safe and comfortable healthy living environment, improve public facilities suitable for all ages, revive the tourism economy in the site, and inherit traditional culture.

Waterfront Park Design Based on Regional National Culture

Linyi City, Shandong Province , China Xichang

Instructor:Lianglu HOU

Project Introduction:The site is a waterfront space located in the city center. After the closure of the upstream due to sewage, the water volume of the river channel decreased significantly, and the riverbed was exposed and gradually turned into wasteland. At the same time, the site is located in China's famous minority cities, with unique minority culture.

This design will restore the river ecology, resume the vitality of the site, create a diversified activity space suitable for all ages, and integrate the unique minority culture of the site.

Urban Protection and Renewal Design of Xiyanchi Street

PROJECT 1

Linyi City has a long history and culture, and its Xiyanchi block is located in the north of the city center, where a large number of historical and cultural heritage are distributed.

Covering tourism, commerce, residence, transportation and other functions, it is the political, economic and cultural center of Linyi city.

The core part of the city forms a relatively closed and independent area, which is not conducive to motorized travel. The block is a narrow road and densely built urban land.

In the 16th year of Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty, the Five Sages Temple was moved to the east bank of the Xiyan Pool. The Emperor Qianlong wrote a poem of praise and inscribed it on a monument.

Pave asphalt pavement to further improve residents' life.

To commemorate the calligraphy master Wang Xizhi, the government allocated funds to renovate the former residence by stages.

To open up new roads, it is known as "Xiyanchi Street". "Xiyanchi" is said to be the place where Wang Xizhi, a calligrapher of the Jin Dynasty, learned to wash inkstones when he was young.

The building is in a state of disrepair.

The government applies for protection.

Further development of business.

The middle-aged and old people in this area account for a large proportion in the age structure, lacking young people. With the passage of time, the groups of foreign tenants and traders have gradually become the main part of the population in the region. The residents in this area mainly travel by public transport or walking, while private cars account for relatively little.

Comunity Activity Center Street Squre

Introduction: It was originally abandoned wasteland, while citizens lack space for public activities. it was changed to a community activity center with additional functions such as bulletin sightseeing and activities to enrich citizens' life and enhannce them each other.

Surrounding Conditions: It is located at the corner of the street where people meet. There is a farmer's market in the north and many shops around it.

Project positioning: Activity Center; Street Corner Park

CONCEPT FROM WANG XIZHI

Introduction: The plot was originally a large number of small shops built against rules, but now it is transformed into a street square with open space attribute. The combination with the bus station not only optimizes the natural environment of the plot, but also greatly facilitates the life of residents.

Surrounding Conditions: It is seated at the bus stop next to the urban trunk road, and most of the surrounding buildings are commercial and residential buildings.

Project positioning: Bus Station; Street Park; Pocket Park

Children's Paradise Xizhi Museum

Introduction: This plot was supposed to be a good space for children’s activities, but imany illegal buildings were set up here, which not only wasted urban land resources, but also posed a threat to the safety of many students in this area. This transformation not only enriched the land use property of the area, but also increased the fun of children

Surrounding Conditions: It is located next to a primary school and a kindergarten, surrounded by shops, schools and a gallery.

Project positioning: Children Activity Yard; Street Park

Introduction: The block was originally a parking lot, which was dull and lacking in cultural connotation and incompatibility, so it was transformed into a museum, which has the functions of science popularization, cultural inheritance and activities after transformation.

Surrounding Conditions: The site is situated opposite Wang Xizhi’s former residence, surrounded by residences, schools and Wuxian Temple.

Project positioning: Popular Science Museum; Street Park

I finally have a place to play with my friends!

I didn’t expect that the night here is more lively than the day!!

Mr. Wang Xizhi’s works perfectly combine the practicality and artistry of running script!

The bus stop finally has a place to rest. It’s much easier for me to travel.

With the community activity center, we will have a meeting place!

When I saw such a beautiful scenery on my way home, my tiredness of the whole day disappeared.

Mom, I want to come here to play with my classmates after school tomorrow! Okay.

Such a museum is really conducive to inheriting the excellent culture of the Chinese nation.

The site is located in the downstream channel and embankment area of the East River to the north of Sanchakou South Road and to the south of the third section of Hangtian Avenue in Xichang City. The surrounding areas are mainly residential areas and commercial land. The East River is about 130 meters wide. Three bridges connect the urban areas on both sides of the River. From north to south in the site, there are Nanqiao bridge, Caihong bridge and aerospace bridge. Among them, only the west river channel between the South Bridge and the rainbow bridge is provided with a through road, with a width of 2m. The road entrance on the east side of the section from Nanqiao to Caihong bridge has been closed. The road is 6m wide and extends about 400m to the south. The road is interrupted.

PROBLEM IN THE SITE

The road was blocked and part of it was blocked. The pavement is damaged

Waste can be seen everywhere in the site.

The vegetation in the site is disordered. The river bed has dried up and there are fewer and fewer wetlands.

The river is dirty.

There is no place for our elders to play nearby, so we can only sit at the door and chat with our neighbors.

It’s so boring to go home after school. There is no fun in the village. I really want to find a place to hide and seek with my friends.

I want to open a home stay, but don’t know where to choose. It really bothers me for a long time.

I really want to go on a healthy tour and experience different customs. It’s better to stay nearby to save time.

The school lacks narrative space. A large area of land at the east entrance of the school lawn is idle, and there is no good ornamental landscape at the waterside rest, so it is necessary to increase the vitality of the site and set the flower border.

■ DESIGN STRATEGY

The school lacks maintenance and management glasses.

Students lack a flower border site to implement the course knowledge well.
