Together for the Employment

By Simone Passeri

This is the Pointing Game, listen very carefully and tell me who it is! It‘s definitely them, the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs, so ready to listen and so ready to speak and share their opinion whenever the situation requests them to be loud and to have their say. Nevertheless, the obstacle they managed to get over is much harder and much more challenging than the sometimes annoying “Pointing Game”; under the guide of the energetic Pashi, ten prepared and outgoing individuals had fun together, chilled out together, discussed together and worked together. And always together they started having that feeling of being the united and harmonious group that they are now. And, guys, you are now living GA, the well-deserved crowning of all your efforts, together again, together forever, sEMPLy awesome as it can be.

The Camelicious Eleven

By Waltter Suominen

My dear DEVE, during the teambuilding I already felt the je ne sais quoi floating in the air. Together, you untied the hardest of human knots, hunted a bear in the night of Antwerp, reacted with inhumane speed, beating the numbers, and ultimately developed a safer future for all. Breaking records at all times naturally. Nikolaus, Claudia, Greta, Dora, Gianin, Juan, Godian, Rory, Sofia, Alex and Tatjana, thank you for the wonderful past days; rock the last day of the GA and to conclude: Record, Kelly’s and umm Camel, got it? Your Journo, Waltter

Immensely Troubled River Engineers

By Frey-Frey Fischer

ITRE manages energy resources but misses Fluffy! Starting off teambuilding with some hot kissing action while out and about with this crazy bunch of love birds it was clear: ITRE would form bonds and work it out just fine. Advised by the Irish potato Queen Lucy (Yeah, buddy!) they pushed beyond their limits and made sure the dams broke. “Sorry, can I go to the toilet and get rid of some of the session theme?” Caring about fish as much as about bunnies, though sometimes having language issues. “It’s a big word, I get confused”. Anyway, with everyone knowing what to do, GA is going to be grand. “Yeah, she’s the defence bitch”. So let’s do it, ITRE - I believe you will do great during GA and steadily move up your personal fish ladder! Thanks for a memorable week goes to Browny, Ton Ton, Teddybear, Pedrophile, Unicorn, Ginger, Mrs Unicorn, Shawty, HoHoHo, Stealface and Potato Queen! Go ITRE! Your journo Lobster Fred

Saving Water

Saving fresh water resources - the task at hand for ENVI I is most certainly not of trivial nature. So let’s quickly revise the last five days: Time has been rushing by. Hardly any sleep, Teambuilding, Committee Work and several other activities made the last five days great fun for both Mariela and the committee. Ten very different characters met and grew closer during the great experience that is Antwerp2011. Mariela safeguarded them during the start of the session, now it is up to them. Judged by how they tackled the EYP-related challenges, I am certain that they will do great!

Yeeeah Buddy

By Louise Van Benschop

Under the relaxed guide of Panny, the delegates from ENVI II have gone through quite some good binding. They’ve been loosening up while having hilarious teambuilding and productive committee work this week as if it were nothing. Real gangsters as they are, without being afraid of not knowing each other beforehand, they knew how to get close, cross whatever cultural boundaries, language problems or shyness. Laughing along, respecting each other to the fullest and making up cool handshakes, I’m absolutely positive all of them are having a great time together. I’ve even been seeing some impressive loosening up of hips on the dance floor. Hopefully, and likely, they will take some good advantage of their getting to know each other, keep in contact, and see each other again.

Dance on the Water

By Monica Mantovani

“Welcome to Antwerp International Forum 2011”. “You should write your name there and then throw the ball like having a real snowball fight. One, two, three. Let’s start!” “If you look at me a Zombie you will see, if you stand by me a Zombie you will be”. Ninja game. “I was involved in a fight in a pool!”. Trick or treat. Dance on the water. “Let’s write down one hundred things you would do with your journo”. Brainstorming. Discussing. Phrasing. El pollo loco. Gossip time. “I play guitar, but I cannot play Guitar Hero”. “My chair is so hot!”. “A diamond with a flaw is worth more than a pebble without imperfections”. No need to explain. Just thank you for the amazing time we spent together.

By Nicola Solomou

TRANtastic

TRAN is a committee of eleven gorgeous delegates but each one is very distinctive and different. Amongst them is a geeky lad from England, a crazy Italian and a romantic Turk. All of these different characters have bonded together well, each contributing in their own special way to the team. This is thanks to their open-mindedness and brilliant social skills as well as the guidance from their genius Chair, Gustav! These guys know how to have fun as well as work hard to produce great results. Look out for their resolution, it willl be a challenge to attack! Yours, Nicola

United in Diversity

By Noura Berrouba

ECON could be described as United – in diversity, in the process of CW and TB and in engagement. From the start, they showed will to learn about each other and the different cultures they represented. Throughout committee work, ECON always found new and daring solutions, amongst many - interesting new institutions. At committee dinner, the group showed skills of innovation when inventing the awkward seastar. Laughter, joy and awkward gestures are signs that represent ECON well. It’s been a bless getting to know you. Rock the floor at GA! I hope the awkward seastar won’t be needed. (Yellow napkin in the air) Yours, Noura

FISHes

By Oona Kiiskinen

Passionate about FISH, masters in having spicy Indian vindaloo and always caring for each other as notes like “I <3 you all” show: these guys rocked the session. Their voice is strong and united: during the Street Fighter in the 10th floor of Den Bell, the security guard comes to tell to lower their voices, since they can be heard ten floors down! Doubtlessly, that’s the voice like that we’ll be hearing in the GA as well. Kevin, Siebe, Cagla, Colin, Lorenzo, Elsa, David, William, Lea and our lovely chair Maite: it has been a pleasure to get to know you all. Thank you all for this amazing session; hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! With love, your journo Oona

Water Wars

Something amazing happened last Sunday. A group of some of the smartest, funniest and most awesome people in the world came together and set out on their mission to save the world from water wars. Those might sound like big words but then there is nothing small about SEDE (except for Maria maybe). SEDE is not just a committee - it’s a lifestyle. To be SEDE is to be passionate, funny and a little bit cheesy. When you hang out with SEDE there is never a dull moment. They don’t always agree but instead of letting that get them down they see disagreements as good practice for the GA. SEDE’s resolution may be the last one in the GA but it will be well worth staying awake to hear it!

Bantwerpen

By Nicola Solomou and Noura Berrouba

Italian quote of the session ‘When I get drunk I get very slutty.’ ECON are ready to show their OrgASAM skills during GA but are they prepared for ITRE’s DIC proposals!? A French couple of the session showed how French kissing is really done one of the nights out Two English guys promised to have a snog in exchange for two other girls making out in front of them – high cost, high profits? The new hip way to get the ladies, as proved by one of the Italians, is to tell them ‘I’ve got a present for you, close your eyes’ and then simply go in for the kill! Tested and passed The head-orgas seem to be getting quite a bit of attention from the ladies of the session, with numerous delegates admitting there fancies for them, quoting ‘Hans and Lucas are really hot ‘cause they look like teddy bears but with manly voices’ Supposedly, one of the English delegates came to Antwerp to debate, like most of you here, but came away with a wife – the effects of the Irish pub perhaps? The primary gossip of the session surrounds the night of the Halloween party with nearly everyone ending up paired off – the dance-floor‘s for dancing people One delegate in the committee of ECON stated ‘My grandma’s horse was big and I liked to ride it’, we hope this was the lie in 2 truths and a lie. After the Halloween party, some Cypriot girls got offered drinks from an old Italian guy (non EYP-er)

SPLASH \\ 14

The same old Italian guy then later grabbed the Cypriote teacher’s ass, such a charmer At the EYP Café a delegate carried a keyboard and bongo-drum in the elevator the entire night. Some delegates have the lack of sleep to thank this guy. The committee on TRAN used the distracting lights of the free bobble pens to get the board’s attention during GA. That is called asskissing guys! According to several female delegates, Hendrik is one spicy organiser. Watch out Hendrik, they are in for the gingerness!

How to seduce Italian guys? (If they don’t get to you first!) 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

It’s not that difficult. Dance Mambo Italiano. Sing ‘A far l’amore comincia tu’ Tell them how gorgeous their pout is. Use this pick up line: You’re as hot as my lasagne.
