SURVIVAL GUIDE

We are MCBS. In the MCBS degree program we are media professionals who wear many hats – from analyzing media campaigns, to creating digital assets, to managing complex projects – the common thread is a deep understanding of how to interpret, craft, and relay a message to a target audience. Our student design team has created this survival guide for you to use throughout Full Sail’s Hall of Fame 8 to help you get the most out of this amazing opportunity! NAME:

HOW TO NAVIGATE

HALL OF FAME 8

Make a schedule of your day before the day comes.

Keep a Notebook with you.

RSVP DOES NOT guarantee!

Keep your Full Sail Badge on you at ALL TIMES!

Carpool! Carpool! Carpool!

Bring your Business Cards!

Of course it’s easy to pull out your phone on-the-go to check out what event you could go to, but having an outline of your day before the day even comes is a great way to make the most out of Hall of Fame. It only comes once a year so make the most of it!

Just because you RSVP’d to an event or panel online doesn’t mean you’ll get in. They are on a first-come-first-serve basis. Refer to the above tip to make sure you see the panels you really want!

It’s hard enough finding parking at Building 3 on a normal day, now imagine ALL THE CAMPUS STUDENTS & MORE all trying to park their cars on campus! Carpool with your friends to save time and space during the week! Meet at a friends house off-campus then drive together.

Get in line 50-60 minutes early!

There are a lot of students and guests at Hall of Fame all trying to get to the most panels they can. The lines will build up quick so make sure to get there early to save your spot!

If your phone dies sometime during the day, you’re going to want a physical notebook to write in. Write down inspiring quotes, contact information, and any other information that you gather throughout the day. As MCBS instructor Pete says, “The Pen is Your Friend!”

Your badge is the gateway to getting credit for being at Hall of Fame, as well as getting into all the panels. You need to have your badge to participate in all the events as well, like the Grammy Party!

Hall of Fame is a great time to network with other students and creators! Bring your business cards to hand out to new contacts and maybe even an Inductee will ask for one! If you don’t have business cards, be creative.

Don’t Dress Lazily!

You don’t have to show up in a suit and tie, but make an effort to look nice! Wear a pair of jeans and a nice shirt, you want to look nice if you meet an Inductee! Also, wear comfortable shoes because you’ll do a lot of walking.

INTERVIEW THE INDUCTEE!

STAY CONNECTED

Ever wanted to ask a question to an Inductee or past Hall of Famer and didn’t know what to ask or say? Here are some questions that you can ask to get the conversation started! What is something you wish you would have learned before going into the industry? What motivates you? Can you name a time when you “Faked it ‘Till You Made it?”

Share your Hall of Fame Experience with Us!

What’s been the most rewarding thing for you while working in the industry? What do you do to signify that it’s relaxing time when you get home? What’s one film that all creatives should watch? What was the most surprising experience you have had? I have a serious question: Are you a breakfast eater or not? What is your spirit animal? In the office what are you most known for?
