3. General warnings Carefully read instructions and cautions before use Pandhora EP3. The manufacturer Pandhora declines all responsibility for any damage caused by an improper use of the appliances mentioned in this manual. Do not perform the following actions, which can compromise the correct functioning of the device and the conformity of the single parts: - Inadequate use - Use of parts and/or accessories of third parties and not approved by the manufacturer - Interventions by unauthorized personnel - No maintenance - Inadequate maintenance • The use of EP3 devices is specific for disabled people who use a manual wheelchair. • The use of EP3 devices in public spaces (roads, sidewalks, squares, cycle paths, etc.) must comply with the specific regulations of the country in which they are used. Pandhora declines all responsibility for use that does not comply with the specific regulations in force. • If you find any anomaly that could compromise the user safety, put the device out of service and contact Pandhora technical assistance promptly. • Non-genuine spare parts and accessories have not been verified by the manufacturer. Therefore, neither the compliance nor the safety of these components with the necessary safety and performance requirements can be certified. • Pandhora is not responsible for any damage caused by the use of non-genuine spare parts or accessories. • The installation of the product must be carried out by authorized personnel according to the procedures defined by Pandhora. Neither the safety nor the effectiveness of the device, nor the validity of the guarantee, can be assured in case of violation of these procedures. 3.1 Safety Notices Before using the device, the user must read and be aware of its content. In the first phase of use, the user must become familiar with driving to avoid any risks due to incorrect use. The specifications indicated must be respected in order not to reduce the safety level foreseen by the manufacturer. EMC - The device complies with EN60601-1-2 standards on electromagnetic compatibility, but to guarantee the user safety, it is recommended not to use the equipment in the presence of strong environmental electromagnetic fields. The use is forbidden to children, to people unable or inadequately prepared or physically unsuitable

Use the wheelchair equipped with EP3 appropriately. Avoid dangerous slopes, descending steps, proceed without braking towards obstacles such as edges, structures, steps, etc. Do not exceed 15km/h because the user could lose control of the wheelchair, with consequent overturning Do not exceed 15km/h because collisions could occur In the event of a collision, injuries, even serious, could occur In case of wet asphalt or uneven ground there is a risk of slipping. Pay close attention during use.
3.2 Intended use By using EP3 devices, an auxiliary push system can be added to most manual wheelchairs, quickly and easily. By hooking EP3 to the wheelchair, the front wheels are raised and a single steering wheel belonging to the "traction unit" is used instead. P3 falls within the use class of the wheelchair to which it is attached, according to the CEI EN 12184 standard. Furthermore, EP3 meets the specific requirements of class B with a maximum range of approximately 60 km (in the version equipped with a charged 16 Ah battery, flat path and user weight of 75 kg). In accordance with the definition of class B of the CEI EN 12184 standard, the device is intended for indoor use and able of overcoming outdoor obstacles. Any other use or misuse can cause dangerous events.
3.3 Usage environment The EP3 devices are designed for use in combination with most manual wheelchairs on the market. The EP3 solutions allow use both indoors and outdoors, with the limitations indicated in this document, and in general with the same limitations imposed by the use of the manual wheelchair. 3.4 Use limitations The device must be used consistently with the intended use described in the preceding paragraphs, any other must be considered improper use.

WARNING! It is absolutely forbidden to modify the functional parameters of EP3 device through the display interface, even if accidentally. The warranty does NOT cover any damage or malfunctions caused by such improper actions.

4.2 Installation EP3 On The Wheelchair ∑ Make sure that the wheelchair frame is compatible with the fixing clamps and with the EP3 thruster. Clamps with a diameter of 30 mm are usually supplied for a frame with front tubes orthogonal to the floor. Contact Pandhora srl to check compatibility. The installation must be carried out ONLY by Pandhora srl authorized technicians. No responsibility is assumed for incorrect installation WARNING! If the clamps or the frame of the wheelchair are not compatible with P3, the thruster could be connected untightly to the wheelchair, with the risk of damage to both the user, the wheelchair and the thruster. ∑ Make sure the thruster is turned off. ∑ Lock the parking brakes of the wheelchair. ∑ Place both the wheelchair and the thruster on a perfectly flat floor. WARNING! The thruster and the wheelchair, if not placed on a perfectly flat floor during installation and coupling, could move accidentally and cause damage to both the user and the device. ∑ Fasten the connection clamps on the wheelchair, without tightening the fixing screws, but letting it slide freely on the frame. ∑ Unlock the positioning piston and place the side arms parallel to the floor. ∑ Loosen the clamping dowels and widen or tighten the side arms until the axis of the female couplings is placed perfectly aligned with the axes of the male couplings on the thruster. ∑ Insert a strong threadlocker adhesive, then tighten the fixing screws of the side arms firmly. WARNING! Dowels loose tightening can cause incorrect coupling with the risk of damage to both the user, the wheelchair and the thruster ∑ ∑
Couple the conical male couplings with the conical female couplings and tighten the lateral clamping levers. Properly tighten the clamps to the wheelchair frame with a recommended torque of 10 Nm. 10

4.3 Coupling the EP3 Thruster To The Wheelchair. ∑ Make sure the thruster is turned off. Place both the wheelchair and the thruster on a perfectly flat floor. WARNING! The thruster and the wheelchair, if not placed on a perfectly flat floor during installation and coupling, could move accidentally and cause damage to both the user and the device. ∑ Unlock the positioning piston and place the side arms parallel to the floor. ∑ Lock the parking brakes on the wheelchair, then move the thruster a few towards the wheelchair.

Couple the conical male couplings with the conical female couplings and tighten the lateral clamping levers.

Unlock the lift piston and pull the thruster towards you, until the piston locks the arms again. NB: In case of assisted lifting, switch on the thruster and insert the reverse gear by pressing the button softly. The reverse button is located on the steering and can change depending on the model.

Activate the thruster brake lever, then tighten the central clamping lever. Make sure that the front wheels of the wheelchair are raised about 4 cm off the ground.

Only with the PANDHORA PEVO wheelchair in the variable inclination backrest version is it possible to rearrange the backrest once the thruster has been raised from the ground, for a correct posture even when driving with the thruster.

4.4 Decoupling the EP3 Thruster from the wheelchair WARNING! The thruster and the wheelchair, if not placed on a perfectly flat floor during installation and coupling, could move accidentally and cause damage to both the user and the device. It is absolutely forbidden to use any other type of battery charger. ∑ The battery can be removed by using the key supplied. ∑ If the device is not used, charge the battery at least once a month and disconnect it from the control unit. ∑ Do not use the device under the influence of alcohol or alteration of psychophysical abilities ∑ Any type of noise or excessive play of the moving parts can be a signal of malfunction. Contact Pandhora srl for assistance. ∑ Use the thruster only in suitable spaces and permitted by law. ∑ Do not use the thruster in adverse weather conditions such as rain or fog. ∑ Do not use the thruster for a weight greater than 120 kg. ∑ Do not go over curving steps. ∑ Do not exceed steps higher than 3 cm. ∑ Before departure always check if reverse gear is engaged. ∑ Before going forward or backward make sure there are no people or obstacles. ∑ In case of obstacles, cliffs and dangers of any kind not at a safe distance, switch off the P3 device and move the wheelchair manually in a safe place.

Pay attention to the limbs during the coupling and uncoupling of the device as abrupt impacts could occur, causing injury. Always handle with care and in a gentle way. Get help if necessary. If the battery is swollen or damaged, do not use the device and contact an authorized Pandhora center immediately. If the charger is damaged, do not use it at all. Risk of electric shock. Contact an authorized Pandhora center immediately. Do not use the device on uneven ground.
7 Power On / Off The display shows: remaining battery capacity, engine power ratio, current engine speed, distance travelled, power, cruise control.

To switch the thruster on, press the button ” ” for 3 seconds. Press “ ” to switch from lap time to total time. This function is useful to check the distance per lap (TRIP) and the total distance (ODO).

While driving, press and hold the down arrow button “ ” until the symbol “ “ appears on the display. N.B. It is activated from 8 km / h, it is deactivated by slightly pressing the electrohydraulic brake. This value may vary depending on the models.

9 Disposal of Equipment (Italy) Pursuant to art. 13 of Legislative Decree 25 July 2005, n. 151 "Implementation of Directives 2002/95/EC, 2002/96/EC and 2003/108/EC, relating to the reduction of the use of dangerous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, as well as the disposal of waste". In fact, the waste of electrical and electronic equipment must be subjected to a special treatment, essential to avoid the dispersion of polluting substances contained within the equipment itself, to protect the environment and human health. It is also possible to reuse/recycle part of the materials of wasted electrical and electronic equipment, thus reducing the use of natural resources as well as the quantity of waste to be disposed of. The abusive disposal of the product by the user entails the application of the administrative sanctions pursuant to Legislative Decree no. 152/2006 (articles 255 and 256).
The disposal of the equipment contained within the EP3 devices must absolutely comply with the specific regulations of the country in which they are used. Pandhora is not responsible for use that does not comply with the specific regulations in force. 10 Battery charge It is recommended to keep the battery charged to get maximum autonomy at any time and maximum profit from the thruster, as the voltage is constantly high. Moreover, the battery life is prolonged because lithium, in all its forms, does not have the memory effect, so you can recharge even when the battery is partially discharged. Do not leave the battery charger at 230 V for a long time after the end of its recharging cycle, green LED on. Follow the instructions below to recharge the battery: • Switch the device on (by keeping the button “

• Remove the battery from the holder by turning the key and sliding the battery upwards • Connect the charger plug to the 230V 50Hz power supply • Remove the protective cap located on the side of the battery • Connect the charger plug • The led light on the side of the charger indicates its status: o Red-red: charging; 19

o Light green: recharge 95% o Solid green: battery fully charged • Once the battery is fully charged, first disconnect the plug from the power outlet and then the plug from the battery.
11 Maintenance
Periodic maintenance guarantees the operation of the device in safety, reliability and efficacy. Insufficient maintenance does not guarantee the validity of the guarantee. Carry out at least a bi-monthly (monthly suggested) check of the tire pressure of the front wheel. The tire inflation pressure is marked on the tire. A flat tire affects the smoothness of the vehicle. Check the tightness of screws and fasteners monthly and after long journeys on uneven ground. Carry out a monthly check of the tightness of the fixing nuts of the wheel pins by a torque wrench set at 50Nm. Check the correct functioning of the accelerator and brakes before each use. Install only spare parts authorized by Pandhora Srl. To replace the battery, wear components (brake system in general) and any other electrical component, contact exclusively Pandhora Srl authorized technicians. 12 Cleaning Constant cleaning of the device, in all its parts, guarantees greater durability and better functionality. Advices: • Before proceeding with the cleaning operations, switch off the device and disconnect the charger. • Do not use abrasive substances, aggressive detergents and high-pressure cleaners. • Clean the device with a soft and moistened cloth, to avoid the introduction of water. Use a common and non-aggressive cleanser. • Dry the device carefully after a walk in the rain. • If the device is smeared, soften the dirt and remove it; then carefully dry the device. • Clean the outside of the whole device after each ride on muddy ground and clean at least once a month. • Do not wash the parts with running water, be careful not to get the electrical parts wet (display, battery and thruster) • Dry immediately with a soft cloth after washing.

13 Operating anomalies In case of anomalies while using the EP3 device, contact Pandhora srl or an authorized dealer. 14 Product Warranty The product warranty period is 24 months for the traction device and 12 months for the batteries, starting from the delivery date of the device Parts subject to natural wear are not covered by the warranty, except in case of wear and tear due to a manufacturing defect. Repair or replacement of a defective part during the warranty period it is at Pandhora’s discretion. No guarantee is given for damage caused by improper use, alteration, tampering or improper repair by unauthorized personnel, use of non-genuine parts, lack of performance of rules as outlined in this Manual. 15 Label The device is uniquely identifiable through the Serial Number (EP __ / ____) shown on the device's label on the battery holder.
