Measured Drawings For the measured drawing of egg cutter, 3 measuring methods are used: photocopying, tape measuring and taking the object apart into components.

Cutter Seat Plan

Scale 1:1

Due to the characteristics of the egg cutter, which is small flat and separable, scale 1:1 would be suitable for its measured drawings. Photocopy would be a convenient and accurate way to produce plan drawings, especially for 1:1 scale. Tracing paper cover on top of the photocopy and the plan could be traced out.

Long Side Elevation

Short Side Elevation

Scale 1:1

The elevation drawings are produced with the help of tape. Photocopy is not suitable in this case, due to the curvy shape of the egg cutter. Firstly, the egg cutter is taken apart to be measured. It is a bit tricky because most of the edges are not straight and need to be carefully measured using tape. After measuring different components separatly, 3 cutters are put into position by layering up into the cutter seat. Some figures are needed to measure in order to be better understanding their relatonship/set up.

Measure & Analysis For the section drawings, it is drawn follewing the plan drawing in order to produce the exact position of the cutter points. Use the dash lines to demonstrate the position of different cutting points when it seats into the cutter seat. 3 cutters are drawn one on top of the other to give a sense of layering and its relationship with the cutter seat. For the thickness of the cutter seat base, it could be produced by the figures measured externally and internally (subtract internal from external).

Sketch Design #1 SUPPORT/DENSITY/LAYERS/BODY SHAPES

How does this respond to your personal space? The more density the strips are, the more privacy the people get. The whole shape of the design fellow the shape of human body -curve: provide support to the neck -strips: provide some personal space

Sketch Design #2 SHADE/SEMI-OPEN/ANGLE/JOINTS

How does this respond to your personal space? The angle of the circular strips provide shade for the semi-open space, the darkness can form a perosonal space for the people sleep inside the sleeping pod.

Sketch Design #3 MOVEABLE/RETATION/INTERSECT(LOCK)/VERTICAL/DIAGONAL

How does this respond to your personal space? The movable joints can bring the whole structure movement, and it could provide personal space when people rotate teh layers of panels. The thing they need to do is lock the panels in place (joints) by using the cylinder.
