AUTOBIO GR APHY
My name is Xiaoting Shen, and I was born in Dalian, China, a coastal cit y that is full of cultural heritage. When I was young, I was impressed deeply by the richness of the architectural st yle of my hometown, as well as the culture. During the six years when I was learning drawing and painting in an art school, I went to many dif ferent cities and saw many dif ferent architectural and interior st yles throughout China. In my travels, I liked to use my pen drawing the various cultures and structures. China’s regions are all incredibly diverse. Traveling throughout my countr y, it has opened my eyes to the rich culture China possesses. The changes from province to province, especially architectural st yle have piqued my curiosit y to study interior architecture and design. I did my Bachelor Degree in Environmental Art Design at the China Academy of Art from 2009 to 2013. I began a deeper understanding of interior, environmental and architectural design and began to integrate diverse skills from creative and conceptual thinking to achieve realit y. During my undergraduate program, with a broader vision and more profound insights on environmental design, I have been inspired to know how important it is for people to create an appropriate and healthy space. I had a great experience at the Academy and an excellent opportunit y to study and improve my design capabilities. Af ter I had finished my undergraduate program, I decided to venture the United States to pursue a Master Degree to further my knowledge and skills on interior architecture design and widen my horizons to learn dif ferent culture and design. Academy of Art Universit y gives me more innovative approaches to advanced techniques and theor y of interior architecture and design. During my studies, I have improved my design techniques to gain more progressive ideas. I'm still working diligently to develop my personal st yle and become a professional interior designer. I believe that to be a good designer one needs to cross borders with a broader vision to organize design elements. Now, as an interior and architecture designer, I am honing the necessar y skills to be a world- class designer.

REVERBER ATION
Because of their history, Dr. Martens and Haight Ashbury neighborhood are both recognizable images today. I think the proud sense of self-expression of Dr. Martens and the hippie culture of Haight Ashbury continue to reverberate and attract people. To convey the concept of reverberation, the goal of the space is to create a diverse and distinctive environment to bring rhythms into space and attract customers. Through the sustainable strategies, we want to contribute to the neighborhood and bring a new positive reverberation to the community.

THE L AYERS OF FR AGR ANCES
Each of the Le Labo perfume is built with different ingredients combined to provide rich layers of fragrances. Le Labo uses the number of ingredients as the codes to “explain the different scents. The goal of the Le Labo kiosk is to use the stacking of paperboard layers to convey how the fragrances create a diverse and natural atmosphere. These multiple layers stretch expressing the richness, variet y, and complexit y of fragrances to bring rhythm into space and achieve a sense of nostalgia.
