MARCIO GOLDZWEIG CALLIGRAPHIC ABSTRACTIONS
Drawings, paintings and woodcuts that I create using graphical elements of calligraphy from various cultures inspireded on the beauty of gestures and dynamics of movements that make up each calligram. In woodcuts I seek to immortalize in wood or linoleum the rough lightness of the brush stroke, engraving with subtlety the paint failures. In multiple prints made with manual press on paper to create a base to interfere with acrylic paints - generating an unique artwork.
About Calligraphic Abstractions
Drawings on paper, made with environmentally friendly ink markers, preparing the embryo for my paintings on canvas or engraved matrix. The inspiration for my creative universe has roots in old graduation diplomas from my high school where, hired by the director, I wrote with pen nozzles the names of students who have graduated in Gothic letters. This exercise gave me the deepest acknowledgement of the writing movements and made me fall in love with their forms. The myopia of my lenses for macro details gives me the opportunity to observe the graphic quality and the beauty of any little detail that displays calligraphy with abstract and unusual shapes to art lovers.
