MODERN
HARRISON, NEW YORK Alignment, order, and flow are among the most important details that make a strong design. With German Cabinetry it is easy to accomplish thoughtful alignment. In this case, the use of channels instead of pulls/knobs create a simplicity in form that elevates the living space. Without hardware, the eyes can experience visual flow without harsh disruptions. The pop of color in this design comes from the use of two different stones, creating a dynamic contrast.
TRANSITIONAL
UPPER WEST SIDE, NY Using inset cabinetry, shaker style doors with a bead, an apron sink, and a slide in range, this design lies between modern and traditional. The use of exposed stainless steel appliancescan be an aspect of transitional design. The stainless steel provides a reocurring texture throughout the whole project. The matching wooden cutlery inserts relate directly to the material of the cabinetry doors and create a dialogue between the oustide and inside of the cabinets.
COMPACT
CLINTON HILL, NY New York City and Brooklyn are places filled with compact apartments. Creating modern and useful design while working within the constraint of size can be challenging and exciting. It is important to think of how a person will work in a such a small space and what would be the most useful layout under the restrictions. Designing with modern cabinetry makes it easier to create spaces that take up the smallest footprint while maximizing the utility of the space.
MULTIFUNCTIONAL PARK SLOPE, NY
Exploring the limits of cabinetry to create multifunctional spaces is one of the best strategies to deal with limited dwellings. Being able to use the wet wall for your kitchen plumbing and laundry plumbing can be a pratcical way to give the kitchen area an alternative function. City living in New England often requires owners to give up a lot of utilities due to sizing limitations. Being creative in making multifunctional spaces allow people to experience a better city living.
