HEAD ARCHITECT
Espacio LAR is a pioneering Design & Construction firm dedicated to revolutionizing the building industry in Panama and its natural paradises through the implementation of ultra-fast, prefab building solutions, elevating the standards of high-style development. As the Head Architect and Designer, I lead our dynamic team in delivering innovative projects that range from custom builds to pre-designed residences.
I lead the design and development of over 80 housing and commercial models. Overseeing every aspect of the architectural process, from conception to completion, I ensured each project met the highest standards of quality and embodied the essence of tropical design.
My responsibilities extended beyond design, encompassing client engagement and satisfaction. I liaised closely with clients to understand their needs and preferences, translating their vision into meticulously crafted design proposals. Guiding them through the selection of finishes and materials, I ensured the realization of their desired aesthetic. Additionally, I played a pivotal role in coordinating with engineering teams, overseeing electromechanical and civil designs to guarantee seamless integration with our architectural vision. Through fostering strong collaborative relationships with engineers, I facilitated the development of cutting-edge architectural solutions, positioning Espacio LAR as the forefront modular construction company within just three years.

CASA MAMEY
CONCEPT
Casa Mamey is a modern architectural piece designed for a Panamanian family in the serene setting of Majagual, Veracruz. It’s all about blending indoor and outdoor living, with an open layout that seamlessly connects the house to its front terrace.
The use of curtains helps divide the space when needed, but they can also be drawn back to create a sense of openness, saving on construction costs by avoiding unnecessary walls. Outside, a striking green spiral staircase leads to the rooftop, where custom-designed cinder blocks, mamey colored, add a personal touch, inspired by the playful drawings of the family’s youngest child and the color of their grandmothers home.
MÁS ALLÁ DEL MARTA
APPROACH
Más Allá del MARTA (Beyond MARTA) is an urban revitalization proposal which seeks to transform the area proximate to the Anthropological Museum Reina Torres de Araúz (MARTA) into a node where cultural centers converge and where they serve as public space articulators. Functioning as a space that generates a sense of identity and belonging, thus activating urban life in the sector.
CONTEXT
Recovering the city center is one of the objectives proposed in “Metropolitan Panama, Sustainable, Human and Global ”,“ Action Plan of the City ” developed by the Inter-American Bank of Development (IDB). One of the projects in this action plan has as objective the renewal of MARTA, for this reason, the National Institute of Culture (INAC), with the support of the IDB, undertakes the mission to rehabilitate and give value to this important building.
The central idea is to take advantage of its location in an area with a great pedestrian flow, these areas are: La Central, the Plaza 5 de Mayo, the bus station “Zona Paga”, the Metro of Panama, the “Plaza de Los Mil Días” and the Plaza José Remón Cantera.
In this way, the proposal Más Allá del MARTA, is a prelude to what will be the rehabilitation of the museum as a step towards creating quality public spaces that provide the opportunity for and encourage human coexistence in outdoor spaces.
CONCEPT
The proposal reduces the space given to cars and grants it to the pedestrians, this creates the possibility of using the spaces as a multipurpose area where people can travel, congregate and express themselves freely. This connection between people and space also helps to increase the economic development of the area.

The study area boasts a promising urban layout, exemplified by the expansive pedestrian network running through the Santa Ana district. Additionally, the cluster of plazas situated on the district’s outskirts, near one of the city’s major transportation hubs, further underscores its potential.
However, despite these features, there exists a noticeable gap in pedestrian connectivity throughout the study area. Spanning approximately 200 linear meters, this plaza holds significant importance within Santa Ana’s urban fabric and its linkages to transportation nodes. Therefore, it should be regarded as an integral extension of the pedestrian-friendly zone, rather than a disruption to it.

Espacio LAR CASA SAMAMBAIA
My goal was to create a tunel of light through the structure. The construction of this house, needed to be dry, we needed to avoid as posible the use of concrete, giving me the freedom to play with natural cured pine wood, black steel structure and glass materials. It was like an architectural Oulipo .
We didn’t want to modify the topography of the place, so we lifted the entire left side of the house. The glass doors on both sides provide a nice cross breeze and give the feeling of being surrounded by nature.
The interior of the house is cozy and elegant. She is natural tropical beauty in the middle of Lomas de Venao. Modern minimalism, California in the 70’s inspired. Designed from the ground up to take advantage of the breathtaking views surrounding the property, it allows the residents to become part of nature while enjoying the comfort of this space.
The connection between the inside and the outside areas, the choice of warm feeling materials, the big windows, and the natural light makes you feel like being in a tropical retreat.
Embracing the idea of minimalism & sustainable living, yet with everything you need. The Tiny Studio is a high-style tiny house with a smart design and comfortable living space.
Its large windows blur the line between inside and outside, creating a unique experience of open- concept living.
Tiny Studio is done using the LAR Construction System (LCS)™, a building technology developed to deliver superior quality projects and preserve the landscape’s life and beauty.
INTERIOR VIEW
UFO HOUSE
The UFO House, designed for an American couple in Azuero, is a harmonious blend of modern architecture and natural landscape. Elevated on stilts, half of the house gracefully follows the natural contours of the land, seamlessly integrating with its surroundings.
Upon stepping inside, guests are greeted by an expansive open-plan layout, encompassing the living, dining, and kitchen areas. Large sliding windows invite abundant natural light and provide seamless access to the terrace and pool area, fostering a seamless indoor-outdoor living experience.
Ascending to the second floor, the homeowners are welcomed into their dedicated workspace, boasting a tranquil ambiance and captivating views of the sea and lush greenery from an adjoining balcony.
The master suite is a serene retreat, boasting a private terrace enclosed by cinder block walls for added privacy. Reflecting the couple's affinity for eclectic design, the en-suite bathroom is adorned with vibrant emerald tiles, a sleek wooden vanity, and a striking pink bathtub, framed by a generous window offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

ChagresDIAGNOSIS OF THE EMBERA PARARÁ PURÚ
COMMUNITY AND PUBLIC INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT
THESIS WORK
Panama is a multicultural, multilingual and multiethnic country; It has rich indigenous roots whose material and cultural manifestations have endured colonization and time. Unfortunately, the indigenous communities that remain continue to live in a vulnerable state, many do not have access to basic services.
Our main goal was to understand the culture of the Emberá Parará Purú community and to help guide their development processes, incorporating their vision into the components of rural planning.
The main concerns expressed by the community were the limited educational spaces and the complete lack of health infrastructure. Their primary school consists of two classrooms, one bathroom and a small terrace where the students eat their lunch. that would be located in an open space that is currently used as a soccer field. This area will include a multipurpose court, a playground, a small vegetable plot and a sitting area that will be used as a mess hall.
The current school access is hazardous, so we considered it a necessity to add pedestrian bridges. These will facilitate the access to the school and will be built with materials that will not be so easily degraded by the rain and humidity.
Another concern submitted by the community was the remoteness of their current health center, Centro de Salud Caimitillo. Because of this, they considered that the construction of a health center in the Chagres Park was vital for the improvement of their quality of life and that of the surrounding communities.
PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE
CHAGRES RIVERPROJECT
BRIDGE FLOOR PLAN
CONCEPT
The access to the community primary school is not safe for children nor teachers, this is why we have proposed the construction of two pedestrian bridges. These bridges were designed with materials that are resistant to humidity and rain such that they will last over time.
The main focus was to create a subtle intervention, establishing a symbiosis between the bridge and the nature that surrounds it. The green color gives a pleasant sensation. It is balanced, tranquilizing, and it compounds on the nature that surrounds it. We chose different shades of green, also creating an interactive look, less monotonous. In this way, the project adapts to the context, not the other way around.

Based on our interview with the Noko (the community leader), and in the surveys we conducted, we concluded that their basic health and medical needs were not being met. It was alarming to know that the community does not have a plubic health center nearby, and in case of emergencies they only have access to traditional medicine and do not have the possibility of reaching a public health center where they can be cared for in the case of serious disease or injury.

This proposal combines the traditional Emberá architecture with elements of zonian architecture. Our research into building methods in the tropics confirmed that this type of architecture is optimal for Panama’s weather.

The structure is elevated from the ground to protect it from floods and pests. The roof is high and has an inclination to provide better air circulation inside the building and so that rainwater flows easily out of the structure to prevent stagnation. The front stairs and ramp were designed to provide a better access for the elderly or disabled, meeting the specifications provided by SENADIS (National Secretary of Disabilities).
