Full up the site, within the allowable setback.

Connected to surrounding areas by Multiple level of connection option, such as cultural, historical, andcommercial.

Cutting thru the site to create a link between North-South and East-West. It become the Spine of the Site.

Proposed plaza at the 3 main human circulation point. Become 3 main nodes in the site with proposed activities.

Proposed building block the fulfil the Plot Ratio requirement.

Innovative link bridge to connect people in another level. With more friendly to the users.

Home, work, school,stores and restaurants are within walking distance.

Create connection to the historical building. Balance the human density in the city.

BUILDING COMPONENTS

Creating a harmonize community for the surrounding context. A strong connection to unite the individual component. A diverse mix of housing and commercial to ensures activation of public spaces at all levels. Proposed Red as offices and Blue as the commercial retail and shops. It located at the Bottom and outer part of the site. Which embraced by the landscape at the ground floor level.

Green color is the elevated link bridge and landscape proposed on top on the link bridge.

Proposed Urban Housing building blocks, Housing block located at the inner part of the site. It protected by the commercial and offices. It represent the live in the project.

Red color in the diagram are lift core that connect from ground to Elevated Link Bridge. It located at the boundary of the site.

Ground Floor level green is the landscape and function activities area. Elevated Link Bridge Green are the elevated landscape the provide greenery for the offices tower. Green is Chill.

Upgraded Elevated Link Bridge connect to Elevated Link Bridges, from 4 sides of the site.

This project is to design urban community housing in the jalan dang wangi area of Kuala Lumpur. the neighbourhood is defined as the area bounded by jalan tuanku abdul rahman to the west, jalan sultan ismail to the north, jalan raja abdullah to the east and jalan dang wangi to the south.

1.0 Introductions 1.1 Background What is disabilities? Disability is a difficulty in functioning as experienced by an individual with a health condition in interaction with contextual factors. The term is used to refer to individual functioning, including physical impairment, sensory impairment, cognitive impairment, intellectual impairment mental illness, and various types of chronic disease. Although some people are born with disability, many people acquire disability. For example, a person may acquire a disability through a workplace incident or car accident, or may develop a disability as they age. There is a strong relationship between age and disability; as people grow older, there is a greater tendency to develop conditions which cause disability.

1.2 Research Questions What is the current state of disability sports? What is the different between normal sports and disability sports? What are the special requirements of sports facilities or recommendation on how to improve sports for the people with disabilities and para-athletes in Malaysia?

1.4 Thesis Aim The aim of the research is to provide direction for sport excellent to sport amongst people with a disability in Malaysia. This remit includes the wide spectrum of sports participation for disabled people, from the elite person to someone taking part in a light physical activity for recreation purposes. 1.5 Thesis Objective Objective 1 : Prepare athletes for International Events Prepare athletes for international events, encourage an active lifestyle for persons with disabilities. Let persons with disabilities participate in sports activities.

Objective 2 : Introduce Sports to people with disabilities Introduce new sports and recreation programmes, establish more training facilities for greater participation, and train coaches, classifiers and technical officials.

Objective 3 : Disabled friendly environment Design a building and spaces with barriers free environment. People with disabilities can freely walk around the buildings. Environment that provide mental healing abilities.

1.6 Types of Disabilities (Main)

Physical Impairment The common characteristic in physical disability is that some aspect of a person's physical functioning, usually either their mobility, dexterity, or stamina, is affected. People with physical disability are usually experts in their own needs, and will understand the impact of their disability.

Visual Impairment Vision impairment refers to people who are blind or who have partial vision.

Deaf or Hearing Impairment Hearing impairments can range from mild to profound. People who are hard of hearing may use a range of strategies and equipment including speech, lip-reading, writing notes, hearing aids or sign language interpreters.

Intellectual Impairment A person with an intellectual disability may have significant limitations in the skills needed to live and work in the community, including difficulties with communication, self-care, social skills, safety and self-direction.

1.7 Percentages of Disabilities in Malaysia Physical impairment and Intellectual impairment are the most in disabilities groups, each impairment taken around 30%. Visual impairment are the third largest group in disabilities, with be around 15%. Deaf or hearing impairment are the second least group among all disabilities and it is around 10% from all disabilities. Some people with disabilities will come with 2 or more types of disabilities.

1.8 Numbers of disabled school in Malaysia In Malaysia, there are numerous special school for people with disabilities. In Perak and Kedah have the most special school in Malaysia, there are around 10 to 14 units of special schools. Selangor, Sabah and Sarawak have 5 to 9 units of special schools. Others state with 1-4 units of special schools.

1.9 Conclusion of Research Reasons persons with disabilities play sports

Twenty-two athletes (18%) indicated they had problems with facilities or equipment. Typical comments included: ‘Infrastructure problems at most of the sporting venues. Not accessible, toilet, no ramps’, ‘Wheelchair provided is not satisfactory’.

Average age started to join sports and competitions

The athletes discovered sport through the school system (25%), rehabilitation/ training centres (18%) and friends (17%). Similar to elite athletes without disabilities, their involvement grew through participation in district, state, national and, finally, international competitions.
