LUXURY HOME PROJECT Concept Statement: Opening - Opening is our design concept.We designed very open public space, therefore there is no wall between living, dining area and kitchen. Instead of using walls, we chose folding screens to seperate spaces. Living room has the largest window facing south, so clients can enjoy the best opening view toward the lake under nice sunlight condition all year round.

SPACE ARRANGEMENT:
VIEW: Due to the southern facade faces to the lake, which is the most beautiful scenery, we placed living room and several important rooms such as the couple's and Elsa's bedrooms (Senior’s room) on the south side. ENTRANCE: There are two entrances, the main entrance is the front gate. For the convenient purpose we set another door to the parking lot. Both elevator and staircase are close to the gate so that people can go to the lower level conveniently . PUBLIC SECTION & PRIVITE SECTION : We divided the space into two diferent sections. the private section contains master bedroom, master bathroom and office, the open section contains living, dining area, conversation area and kitchen. This arrangement make sure that clients can enjoy both private and public spaces.

Furniture Design
The furniture involves re ned traditional Chinese elements. The concept of couches leg is from Ming Dynasty square table, which was pretty fashion furniture in that period, gives a sense of stability and equilibrium. And the decoration on the couches is a kind of molding often appears in traditional Chinese furnitures. There are various lattices in Chinese interior and furniture design. Lattice is indispensable elements that represent elegance and aethetic.

Mix and Match
The overall style of guest bedroom is a combination of both Chinese and Japanese styles. Since the two styles philosophically have similarities, the use of color, material as well as space arrangement in both styles could exist harmoniously. In this space, Chinese folding screen, octagonal shelf, red lantern and caligraphy scroll coexist with Japanese dining table and tatami mat. Eastern elements including wood, bamboo and cream color are in common use.

Kat wants a wedding dress shop in which to sell wedding dresses and shoes. She would like to mainly display wedding dresses and limited room for shoe display. As a successful designer she is eager to display all of her design works. As for her dresses, she explains that her total design work is in neutral hue with vintage and warm feeling. To make every customer feel individual, she designed different elements on each dress. She agrees with the feeling about her design concept, which is kind of fresh and close to nature, relaxed and elegant.
Surrounded by several roads. Southern and western entrances could be mian entrances for their locations that are close to the roads. A series of large windows on southern facade for display.
To please her customers, she would also like to play some music such as jazz and piano music in her store. Furthermore, it may be necessary to set a resting area, providing drinks and magazines. She likes to announce her products on the website rather than other methods of announcement such as advertising. She would like to set several dressing/fitting room and at least two big mirrors on the walls and she prefers to set a counter for business instead of an office. The light in the store would focus on the dresses; wood or natural materials such as bamboo is acceptable for her. Besides, Kat chooses “Kat Aileen� as the name of her brand.

The two- storey retail will have its entrance, large display area and a counter on the main main level while the storage, fitting room, restroom and resting area are on lower level.

Logo Design Kathryn wish to use “Kat Aileen� as the name of her brand. Since the total style of the store is natural and the design involves natural materials and curilinear lines, it is better to unify the logo with the interior design concept. Therefore the design of logo has inspired by the idea of leaf and vine shape, which are also used as ceiling design. The logo is combine with the logo

The design concept of Kat’s retail is emerged from the feeling of Kat’s designing style.

Based on her style, the interior would be a fresh, elegant, vintage and warm space. Butt Joint
Natural materials would be used for interior finishes and decoration such as wood, leather, even bamboo. Inspired by vine and leaf, curvilinear shapes would be involved in design. Colors such as light olive green, cream white, pure white, wooden color are available. The brand was also designed depend on the concept of floristic curve.

Project Requirements:
This project is to design a healthcare center adjacent to an existed housing estate in Iowa State.
・MemoryCare ・Skill Nursing ・Assistant Living ・Public Space & Administration Space
・5 acre site ・50,000 square foot facility ・Single story building ・Designed on a structural grid of 30' x 30' ・Designed within a budget of $10,000,000 - Building & Site $1,000,000 - FFE
The healthcare center should have different residential areas to meet the requirements of various residents. Since the residents are mainly seniors who spend most of their time live in this buildings, they are able to have their private single residemces and there are enough public spaces for their social activities such as communicaion and entertainment. To whom live here, it will be not only a large complex, but also a cozy and warm-feeling home with professional caregivers for them so that they can enjoy their carefree lives .
The project should also be: ・Sustainably designed ・LEED rated (silver, gold, or preferably platinum) ・Fully ADA compliant ・Universal Design accessibility throughout
