Supplements
In this project, we aim to solve the flooding issue on our site and at the same time, we use the towers and landscape as water collection and recycle equipment. From landscape to detail design, this design combines several systems and make them work together to create a new kind of apartment which can not only environmental friendly itself but also can contribute to the revival of Detroit area.

Landscape concept The design starts with the site visiting and analysis. According to the research, Detroit area experienced flooding issue several times in the past decades. Lower points on the site, like the roads under the rail way, will gather rain water and cause problems. We tried to use our design as a strategy to solve this problem. Our apartments and the landscape around the apartments will gather and reuse the rain water. Under the circumstances that there is a large area in Detroit that has the same flooding issue that caused by the railway, our project can be used in a large urban scale. So, our landscape design is connected with the railway, which can be extended to wherever there are railways. Besides the urban impact, the landscape of our project also has the function of collecting and filtrating rainwater and providing good quality of the water-related landscape.

Plans There is two main entrance to the apartment. One is for the public, which will lead people to the lower short-time rental apartments and the expiration space on the top of the building. The other is for private use, directly lift residents to the upper private apartments. All water related rooms, like kitchen and restrooms, are located near the central core for shortening the distance of pipes.

There are two main water systems in our building. One is the water collection system. There are water pounds on the site and water tanks underground. This rainwater will be filtrated and reused by the residence. Furthermore, the other water system is the recycle water system in the towers. We collect the water from the sink and tub in each apartments, and reuse it to flush toilets. This water has more complicated filtration system. It need to be separated by oil first and then filtrated. Also, there are some water seed and plants in our tower that can clean the water.

Facade Design In order to let the water flow down from the top and at the same time provide the residences with good water-related communal spaces, we arrange the position of public spaces inside the building in each floor. As a result, there is a spiral figure on the facades. Under the circumstance that the tower is quite a dominant figure on the site, so we try to minimize the area of the windows and bring more plants to our building on the purpose of trying to be friendly to the surroundings. We add operable shading devices on the facade which is good to the indoor lightening condition and light pollution. Also, we try to find a balance between good viewpoint and energy saving. So, we minimize the area of the windows as much as we can, but still leave space for the residence to have a great view.

The design starts from the arguments, which are combining learning with other and opening spaces of them to nature to create an active atmosphere. The library without walls becomes the social and circulation center, and students will meet books and nature when they move for different courses. The form comes from an amoeba, which is an organism that has the ability to change its shape for more contact with nature. Curve lines are also introduced to the sections, and changed based on the programs. Several courtyards are designed to bring inside not only trees and sky but also the natural light. Some of the functions can be shared with the neighborhood with their own entrance.

Typological Argument
Formation
An amoeba, an organism that has the ability to change its shape for more contact with outside world.
Separate a centralized formation and use organic forms to link them together again. The bring not only trees and sky inside the building, but also the natural light. Although architecture has its own organic shape, it is related to the context of the site.
Urban and Social Arguments A Sharing of facilities with the neighborhood will make the school a gathering spot even when school is not in session. Open to nature, and combined with other activities, the school creates an active atmosphere.

According to the research of the education situation of Detroit area, a type of school is designed to create more education possibility in the way of sharing the resource of good teachers and learning facilities. Autonomous vehicles are introduced to the school system and become a part of the architecture. The schools will work as a terminal, which has a platform for attaching all kinds of movable school facilities and make the site a temporal school.

As the autonomous vehicles will allow everyone use vehicles without a need of a driving license, vehicles can now become a part of the architecture, and the relation of parking, vehicles, and architecture will totally change.

Filling the Parking lots
This kind of sharing school will be introduced to the neighborhood and filling the empty space left by the shrinking of parking space. Green spaces will replace the parking space to reduce the boring unfriendly concrete hard paves. Combining the school and green space together, the parking space will change to a new center of the community. The linear designed school having the same width as the typical parking space makes can be fit in all kind of situations.

From Monday to Friday, the building will be the gathering spot for the kids who are not rich enough to get to a better school far away from home. Each day, they may have different topics from different classes. On weekends, the building will be enjoyed by the neighborhood as a market or a party space.

This design is based on the historical elements of Tianjin and the research results that students collected in person around the site. It is a design began with the urban design and the information and data of a commercial complex. The constructive, as well as the business format, is taken into consideration in design. All 94,733 square meters building complies with the requirements of the guide or standard for the building structures and safety needs.

The site of the architecture is situated close to Binjiang Street and Haihe River and passed through the Metro Line 3. The commercial complex needs to conduct city surveys and should take the history of Tianjin, traffic and research results of the surroundings into consideration. What is the most important thing, in my opinion, is the long folk history resources in Tianjin. Chinese Theater besides the site is selected as the principal element in this design.
Based on the two square design with the draw-back platforms, the commercial complex encloses the main theater in the site on all three sides. Glass gallery and water features with a strong guide, which leads people from all the venue entrance to the center of the square, participating activities in the square. Improving the public space, I build up a center area of folk characteristics and the people’s daily activities of Tianjin.

I designed two squares in the commercial complex, the theatre square, and the central sink square. Theatre square has changed the status of the place that people have nowhere to stay before they are entering the theater, providing people with the space to gather outside. It is also an excellent place to give the artists area to carry out related activities and has more audience. The glass gallery and the

water guiding individuals enter the center sinking square in the middle of the site, gather the crowd. The platform of the layer by layer provides people with a beautiful view of a variety of activities in the center and makes opportunities to more people participate in activities.

The design began with the conceptual design. Use Tibetan Buddhist symbols and make space transformation, reflecting the characteristics of the Tibetan Buddhist. Picking up elements from building, poems and other works of Buddhist, through analysis, graphic, transformation, I combined the architecture with the art, history, and theory, and created a Tibetan Buddhism display experience center reflecting the culture of Tibetan Buddhism and Inner Mongolia geographical conditions significantly.

themeans Site The site is situated on Wudangzhao, Inner Mongolia. “Wudang” in Mongolian means “willow”,About while “Zhao” “temple”. Tibetan Buddhist temples are on the west side of the site, Beiyi mountains, and in front of the Temple Square is II Buddha garden, where is also used as debating Buddhist scriptures field. There are two groups of trees on the site needed appropriate reservations. There is also a platform on the north of the site, where the ceremony of the Vesak Day will be held. Figure of Buddha

DGav-vkhyil The shape of the rotation has the similar meaning with ancient Chinese symbol, yin and Yang. The center of the rotation is often composed of three or four parts. The word "dGav" refers to a variety of happiness, joy, and pleasure. The word "Vkhyil" means "rotation" or "around". The three or four spins which are usually drawn in the center behalf the "three treasures" or
Abstraction & Variation unnumbered "three realms". Then, I abstract the dGav-vkhyil into a geometric simple sign and vary it in different ways which can be used as a space design strategy in further design.
Twisting the Site
Based on the analysis of the site and the chosen symbol of Buddhist, I decide to design a disappearing architecture, which rejects the traditional order of space and react with the surrounding environment. The building was grown from the mountain, which would not steal the spotlight of the temples.

Abstract the Ananda-chakra in the design of the plan. Triangles mark the building turning creating possibilities and conflicts of space.
Type 2 The three main body blocks collide together, forming the main building blocks. Some parts of the building are covered by the construction and make the architecture disappeared in the environment.
Type 3 The third triangle is in the exhibition hall. There is a platform in the center that provides a view of the figure of Buddhism on the mountain.

Prayer Flags
A prayer flag is a colorful rectangular cloth that is often found strung along mountain ridges and peaks high in the Himalayas. They are used to bless people or the surrounding countryside. I used these flags decorate the building to establish the spirit of Buddhism. What's more, it also lets people interact with architecture in the way people hang flags on the building.
The Mani Stones
Mani stones are stone plates, rocks and pebbles inscribed with the six syllabled mantras of a form of prayer in Tibetan Buddhism. Mani stones are intentionally placed along the roadsides and rivers, which are just like our site. Mani stones are a form of devotional Kintamani. I used rocks and pebbles as the materials of the building. People can also put more stones, and in this way the building will have the possibility to growth.

Entrance is designed in an open to greet the arrival of the passengers. At the same time, from open to narrow, people may get the feeling of entering the Buddhist space. 2
Exhibition The main exhibition space is in this block. It provides people a glimpse of the figure of the Buddha on the mountain.

Office & Storage Office and storage places are on the mountain. In this way, stuff has a routine other than tourists. Storage can also have darkness and cool.

Coffee Shop & Garden A coffee shop and garden were designed at the end of the routine, which leads people to brightness and back to the real world. Give an end to the religious journey.

The library of Tianjin University is a historic conservation building, surrounding with mature trees. It would be a shame to cut down these trees, for the reason that they are not only deserve protection, but also represent an important memory of the university. Walls and trees are the main element on this site, which is also the fundamental factor of traditional Chinese gardens. Analyzing the features of a traditional Chinese garden, the design creates a wonderful experience of the history, the nature and humanistic care of reading space.

Building Axes of the Original Library The original library axis lacks exchange with the external environment. The transverse axis is obvious, while the longitudinal axis, which is interrupted by the walls and bookcase, is unclear.

Ground Floor Plan Containing the external courtyard and pedestrian into the building, the axes of the new library are multi-level, combining nature and space for human action, and leading students to the old walls and old trees.
Building Axes of the New Library The construction of the building not only keeps the original trees, but also creates more benefits. The drawback of the building and the tree hole can avoid the construction of a larger body, so that people in the building can achieve more natural light and garden views. What is more, the courtyard can also can realize the small storage of rain water.

The design remains all the trees on the site to reduce the effect of the original environment, using the original tree height and the radius forming the architecture and interesting space. At the same time, the trees become a beautiful natural scenery. Utilizing the method of viewing borrowing and unframed scenery which is normal in traditional Chinese gardens design the building, people can enjoy the scenery and the books in the library.

Sanya Art Museum and World Handicraft Council Headquarters, Commercial, Residential Complex China Academy of Building Research (CABR) 08.2015- 09.2015 Designed one of three versions of the massing and plans for the Sanya Art Museum & Complexes of World Handicraft Council Agency Headquarters. Assisted designing the plans for the hotels on the site, building digital 3D models, and the representation of one of three projects in the final presentation of the Schematic Design.
