WETLAND RESORT ACADEMIC PROJECT XIXI WETLAND HOTEL DESIGN SINGLE WORK TUTOR: HUI WANG
The Xixi Wetland Park has an extensive history and is located on the southern tip of the longest and oldest canal in the world, the Hangzhou-Beijing Canal. To see the striking beauty of this place there is definitely reason to be updated on the legends of Hangzhou which then gives this you a whole new spectrum to fill your imagination with. Although civilization may be around the corner, the Xixi Wetland Park makes you forget about this and helps you focus on the sounds of the nature, the way that human beings are supposed to live. Xixi wetland resort design provides a good relationship between modern architecture and natural sense. Visitors can not only enjoy the top service of hotel but also be enchanted by the fantastic sight of view at the same time and place.
ANALYSYS By Ecotect for grasshopper simulation is given partition, can obtain three main location: a. The northwest corner of the mountain area; b. The southwest corner of the water area; c. The road to the eastern region. The two western location advantage position, east to the inferior location.
In the triangle traffic core hotel is divided into internal and external and evade the region: a. Reception center and residential area; b. Kangle and the Department of food; c. Logistics department and accommodation, catering Logistics. This difference streamline domestically and abroad, and logistics, let a guest have a comfortable experience.
In the detailed division of landscape, take foreign, logistics on the strategy: a. Logistics department and food and beverage, accommodation convenient logistics entrance hidden; b. A large area of public space. Whether the staff or visitors, all can fully enjoy the convenience and comfort of the hotel.
Establishing curve by cell polygon; Shrinkage curves to form the contour; To the contour of the interactive space for boundary formation.

MATERIALITY The GRG board is a kind of a large number of the microporous structure of plate, in the natural environment, porous body can absorb and release moisture. When the indoor temperature is high, humidity small, plate gradually release in porous water; when the indoor temperature is low, when the humidity big it will absorb the moisture in the air. This release and respiration on the formation of the "breath". The moisture absorption and release humidity cycling changes play a regulatory role of indoor relative to temperature, working and living environment to create a comfortable climate. Epidermal GRG gypsum smooth can easily adhesion coating, white ceramic paint can reflect ultraviolet greatly, reduce the influence of solar radiation on the hotel. Because of its light weight, high strength, mechanical performance is also very impressive.
Two layers of high space makes full use of the convection effect of the wind, let the exchange of hot and cold air as possible, achieve the effect of saving energy. 4.200

In the landscape oriented location is provided with a natural floor, hand can better and wetland fusion, on the other hand, the wetland climate full introduction of buildings. With the expansion of activities and vision space at the same time, the stability of the microclimate to achieve energy-saving effect.

Responsive Facade Design & Fabrication
Responsive building facades is an emerging field in architectural research and design. Recent advancements in sensory and motion-control technologies enable building envelopes to adapt their forms to real-time environmental conditions, solar exposure or user driven data sets. Controlled daylight conditions affect people's moods, work efficiency, and also help to save energy. With an increasing demand for 'smart' living and working environments, our project is focusing on a daylight responsive facade system that could be applied to various building typologies.
Our unit is dynamically oscillating between extended and porous states to compensate for daylight and weather conditions. We have been focusing on mapping planar and cylindrical building geometries with our kinetic system as second skin applied on standard glass curtain facades.
