Introduction./ de-construct is a digital creative agency. We help our clients exploit the opportunities offered by digital media. The agency was formed in September 2001. The founding partners had worked together at the digital agency Deepend where they developed their shared vision. The agency is part of the Isobar network of digital agencies worldwide. The team combines experience in traditional marketing, interactive design and new media thinking.

– Capture Frost’s individual approach to print design through the medium of the web

– Concept of a ‘typographic landscape’ was developed after visiting Frost’s studio; the space being a landscape of his work – This metaphor created the navigation system with bigger projects on the landscape representing Frost’s favourite work – The design uses one typeface and one colour throughout the site and no imagery (except to illustrate projects) to represent Frost’s signature typographic approach

Case studies./ Royal Festival Hall Consumer e-commerce site www.rfh.org.uk

The new site has far exceeded its targets. Online sales increased from 20% of all sales to 40% of all sales.

– Design a new website for the Royal Festival Hall – Increase ticket sales via the web with the aim of selling 50% of tickets online in 5 years – Improve usability and navigation of the site to enable efficient browsing and searching of events

– Simplified navigation and calendar format for event listings – Ensure users are always only oneclick from the buying process – Flash ads and banners used to push recommendations and stimulate cross promotion of events – Simple modern design to appeal to the contemporary and classical audience

– Provide comprehensive information about the London mayoral, London assembly and European elections – Raise awareness of the elections across all London communities – Be fully accessible in accordance with current usability practice – Provide 99.9% up time and 100% security for the life of the site – Provide official result service for news organisations

– A comprehensive user-centric design process utilising focus groups across London demographics – Targeted ethnic communities by linking with key language portals and providing online assets – Step by step guides on the voting process utilising Flash and also HTML versions for usability – Fully content managed site with staged, secure publishing

– In the month running up to the election 45,000 visitors viewed an average of 9 pages within the site – 20 ethnic community portals successfully promoted the elections – 100% up time achieved with no security breaches – Results service being used by BBC, AP and Reuters

Case studies./ Marks and Spencer Interactive installation and retail marketing M&S Flagship store Oxford Street, London

Acknowledged as a groundbreaking use of interactive technology for retail window marketing.

Task – Create an innovative launch idea for a new loyalty / credit card – Integrate with the above the line advertising, which used the Dean Martin song ‘That’s Amore’

Solution Results – Use a combination of interactive – Research on 2 store windows at technology and an innovative M&S on Oxford Street showed audio application to turn the M&S that the interactive window flagship branch on Oxford Street increased the number of passersinto a live brand experience by who stopped and looked at the windows by 1500% – Install a system triggered by passers-by that would serenade – Acknowledged as a them down the street with the groundbreaking use of interactive ‘Amore’ soundtrack technology for retail window marketing – Enable the lyrics displayed across a series of plasma screens to change colour in response to people’s clothing colour
