Gift Wrapping Tips for Unusual Items
Awkward shapes solved! From oddly angled toys to sporting goods and everything in between, wrapping unusual presents can be a real headache. But fear not! We’ve got you covered with our top tips and tricks to conquer those tricky parcels and spread some holiday magic.
Embrace the Gift Bag
Let’s be honest, sometimes the easiest solution is the best. Gift bags are a lifesaver for oddly shaped items. Simply pop the present in, add some tissue paper and you’re good to go!
Pro Tip: Elevate the gift bag by using high-quality tissue paper in festive colours or patterns.
Think Outside the Box (Literally!)
Instead of traditional wrapping paper, consider alternative materials like fabric, brown paper, or even maps! These can be more forgiving when dealing with unusual shapes and add a unique touch.
The “Bundle Wrap” Technique
For long, thin items like sporting equipment or musical instruments, try the “bundle wrap”. Simply roll the item in wrapping paper and tie the ends with ribbon or twine like a Christmas cracker.
Create a Custom Box
Get crafty and construct your own box from cardboard! This allows you to perfectly tailor the size and shape to your item. Decorate it with paint or festive embellishments.
The Art of Disguise
Turn that awkward shape into something else entirely! Wrap a toy aeroplane in blue paper to create a “cloud”, or a tennis racket in green paper to make a “Christmas tree”. Get creative and have fun with it!
Happy wrapping!
Tip for Retailers
Offer a gift-wrapping service in-store! This adds value for your customers and can be a great way to boost sales.

The Art of Attraction
Drawing crowds with festive windows. The holiday season is a golden opportunity for retailers to boost sales and attract new customers. With increased foot traffic, it’s essential to stand out and make a lasting impression. Here are some strategies to help you take full advantage of the holiday rush and create an eyecatching window display that draws customers in!
Leverage Holiday Themes and Trends
Embrace the festive spirit by incorporating popular holiday themes and trends into your store’s decor. Whether it’s a Christmas wonderland, summer soiree, or a New Year’s celebration, aligning your display with the season’s mood can attract more attention. Use lights and props that evoke holiday cheer and excitement.
Create a Story with Your Display
A compelling story can captivate passersby and encourage them to step inside. Design your window display to tell a story that resonates with your target audience. For example, you could showcase a journey of gift-giving, a festive family gathering, or a summer adventure. Use mannequins, props, and backdrops to bring your story to life.
Highlight Key Products
Ensure your best-selling or most unique products are prominently featured in your window display. Arrange them in a way that highlights their features and benefits. Use creative arrangements and lighting to draw attention to these items. Consider rotating products throughout the season to keep the display fresh and interesting.
Keep It Clean and Uncluttered
While it’s tempting to fill your window with as many decorations as possible, a cluttered display can be overwhelming and unattractive. Focus on a few key elements and arrange them thoughtfully. Ensure there’s enough space for each item to be appreciated and that the overall look is cohesive and balanced.
Promote Special Offers and Events
Use your window display to advertise special promotions, discounts, and events. Eye-catching signs and banners can draw attention to these offers and entice customers to enter your store. Make sure the messaging is clear and easy to read from a distance.
Engage All Senses
While the visual aspect of your window display is crucial, don’t forget about the other senses. Play festive music, use scent diffusers with holiday fragrances and even offer small samples of holiday treats. Engaging multiple senses can create a more immersive and memorable experience for your customers.
Stay True to Your Brand
While it’s important to embrace the holiday spirit, make sure your window display still reflects your brand’s identity. Use colours, themes and messaging that align with your brand values and aesthetics. This consistency helps build brand recognition and loyalty.
Monitor and Adapt
Finally, keep an eye on how your window display is performing. Observe which elements attract the most attention and adjust as needed. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different layouts, themes and products to see what works best.
By following these tips, you’re sure to make the most of the increased foot traffic during the holiday season and create window displays that not only attract but also delight your customers.
Happy holidays and happy selling!
Capture the Magic
Use instagrammable moments to drive store traffic. In today’s digital age, creating ‘Instagrammable’ moments can be a powerful way to attract customers to your store. These photo-worthy experiences not only enhance the in-store experience but also encourage customers to share their visits on social media, amplifying your reach. Here’s how you can capture the magic and drive store traffic.
Create Visually Stunning Displays
The first step to creating Instagrammable moments is to design visually appealing displays. Think about vibrant colours, unique textures, and interesting shapes that will catch the eye. Seasonal themes, artistic installations and creative product arrangements can all serve as perfect backdrops for customer photos.
Offer Incentives for Sharing
Motivate customers to share their Instagrammable moments by offering incentives. This could be in the form of discounts, freebies, or entries into a giveaway. Make sure to clearly communicate the details of the promotion and how customers can participate.
Highlight User-Generated Content
Showcase customer photos on your social media channels and in-store displays. This not only builds a sense of community but also encourages others to share their own experiences. Featuring usergenerated content can also provide social proof and build trust with potential customers.
Create Themed Photo Spots
Designate specific areas in your store as themed photo spots. These could be seasonal setups, product-focused displays, or simply aesthetically pleasing corners. Make sure these spots are well-lit and easy to access and consider providing props to enhance the photo experience.
Host Instagrammable Events
Organise events that are designed to be Instagrammable. This could include product launches, workshops, or holiday celebrations. Ensure that these events have plenty of photo opportunities and encourage attendees to share their experiences on social media.
Collaborate with Influencers
Partnering with local influencers can help amplify your Instagrammable moments. Invite influencers to visit your store, experience your displays and share their visit with their followers. This can significantly increase your store’s visibility and attract new customers.
Keep It Fresh and Exciting
Regularly update your Instagrammable displays to keep them fresh and exciting. This not only encourages repeat visits but also provides new content for customers to share. Seasonal changes, new product launches and special promotions are all great opportunities to refresh your displays.
Engage with Your Audience
Engage with customers who share their Instagrammable moments by liking, commenting, and sharing their posts. This interaction shows that you value their content and can help build a loyal community around your brand.
