I can’t believe we are here at the 13th issue being released on Friday the 13th! Its been quite the journey to get here, I’m always reminded its not the destination but the journey that should be appreciated. I’m sure all of my readers, advertisers, media colleagues and family know how much I appreciate all of you. I tell you all the time but one more time doesn’t hurt. A heartfelt, gracious, humble thank you to everyone who has supported myself and Xposure. No matter if you have been with me since 2004 or just yesterday. I appreciate everyone so very much. This issue is complete with everything you love about this magazine – music, fashion, film, automotive, beauty and travel. Xposure is your guide to everything Culture, Lifestyle, Currency. The cover photo is from my time at the Miami International Week, the gorgeous dress is by Eduardo de Las Casas. He’s nothing short of genius, Eduardo and all of the other designers put on quite the show in Miami. It was four full days of excellence in style, and hard work. Featured in these pages is the best of Miami International Week, including a new section Haute Spot featuring Maria Hamilton. She is one of the premiere jewelry companies in Florida and was a joy to interview. My Next on Deck features Jae Michelle a very soulful singer with great poise and a great voice. Tim Ned is out of Texas and his lyricism is one of his many talents, Repo is one of the most well rounded musicians I’ve met. RoShon is one of the most talented people I’ve featured, his positive, happy energy is contagious. I also want to wish him well on Dancing With The Stars. Last but certainly not least is Miss Alycia Levels whom when I met her was open, candid and very grounded. All of the people in Next on Deck deserved to be there and I can’t wait to introduce them to you. There’s also a spotlight on The Tribeca Film Festival, a lot of horsepower in Heavy Metal and beautiful clothes among other things in these pages. Also be sure to check out www.xposure365.com for your daily dose of Xposure. Before I close this letter, I want to dedicate this issue to my daddy. I love you daddy and I am so very proud to be your daughter. Again thank you to all my supporters domestically and internationally, the next issue will feature a spotlight on the Volvo Ocean Race, preview of Essence Music Fest and a few surprises.

When I tell people I’m a gospel artist, they think I’m going to have an organ and foot stomping and all. People have that perception of gospel music and they overlook you sometimes because they think you music is only for the few hundred thousand that go to church every Sunday. The sound of Alycia - I consider myself a dream advocate, I’m all about encouraging, inspiring people. Its very upbeat and uplifting and by the time its over, you want to play it again because it makes you feel so good and want to smile. I love to leave people with hope because at the end of the day, we all need it.
Alycia Levels I’m Alycia Levels, 23 years old, a contemporary gospel artist and I started on this journey about 2 years ago. I started out doing Pop and R&B and I wanted to be a Pop star but it wasn’t in God’s plan for me. I’m on this journey doing the music I am supposed to be doing. What contemporary gospel means to Alycia - I consider myself inspirational because I like to talk about life and I cite my source which is God. Sometimes, I have to classify it in a genre so contemporary gospel is what I feel. Contemporary is upbeat, something you feel like you would hear on the radio. It has drums, and its something you can move to and at the same time, its a message. I’ve been singing since I was 6 years old, and I’ve been in this genre of music for the last 2 years. Alycia’s definitive moment - I’ve always known I was supposed to sing gospel, like most people I began singing in church. My mom was a choir director and she had me in the adult choir, as I got older and into college I decided I didn’t want to do it anymore. I moved back from Alabama and started going to Georgia State, I started to have different thoughts. I became really discouraged and stopped singing. I prayed for God to give me back my passion to sing and write music. When He gave it back to me, I knew I couldn’t do the same thing I was doing. God had to really lay it on my heart and it was by far the best decision I ever made. I always knew I was supposed to sing gospel, I just didn’t want to.
The new album Live To Inspire - The first album was called Pray Until Something Happens, the second album is called Live To Inspire. The title came to me after spending about 45 days in Europe, I had the chance to go to Spain, Portugal and Italy. We sang in Barcelona and Madrid and every time we sang there, it was sold out and 98% of the audience did not speak English. It would be people who came up and cry and tell us they wanted to be gospel singers. It opened my eyes and showed me each life means something to someone and you might not even know. Live to inspire, live to be a blessing to someone else. I’m working on the album now and from the first album to right now, I’ve grown so much. I’m about 60-80% done, I’m still writing to some music and some of the songs are already done. I want to have an overabundance of music, I’m very particular about the music I put on this album. I want to make sure the message does what its supposed to do. The album is set for release May 9th. For more info - My website is www.alycialevels.com that’s where you can find all of my information, music, store and everything. We are doing a campaign called Live To Inspire through the website, you can make a pledge and you can receive all kinds of things like autographed CD’s, t shirts and more. People can also make their own videos on how they Live To Inspire to change the atmosphere around them. For those interested in making a pledge, or to find out more information about the campaign they can email livetoinspire@ alycialevels.com Last words - I would like to encourage people to move in their gifts and be encouraged to embrace the calling on your life.
Is it harder for a gospel/inspirational artist to breakthrough to mainstream success - In all genres, you have obstacles. People look at gospel a lot differently because they think your audience is limited versus a pop star’s audience. Al 08
RoShon Fegan Editor’s note - At press time, RoShon and his team were still working on a television deal. We now know that deal was with Dancing With The Stars, RoShon is in his third week and we wish him the best! IRoShon’s introduction - I’m an actor, singer, dancer, music producer, choreographer, I do a lot of things I love and was blessed to do. Currently I’m on Shake It Up on the Disney channel, I’ve been doing music all of my life. I have an EP coming out with 3 songs written and produced by me, its what I’m really excited about. Its called I am RoShon, I’ve been looking forward to releasing it for a while since I haven’t really put any music out. I really want to make an impression on my fans, its going to be real nice. RoShon’s definitive moment - I was born into the entertainment business my father, Roy Fegan is an actor and producer. He raised me into the business as an actor, he took a musical play around the world that he produced called Treat Her Like A Lady. Everyone in my family has something going on, my mother is a singer, my brother is a rapper, and my sister is a singer as well. I wasn’t really thinking of it as a career that way; honestly it was all I knew. It was the only thing I was in to because it was all I saw. All of a sudden I realized you can get paid doing it, I was like okay that’s interesting. RoShon’s 3 In A Ro - It represents me as a triple threat entertainer, the name came from me using it as a rap name. I grew out of using the name but it had a lot of history. I was helping my father build a patio in the back of our house, the planks I was putting up kept falling and hitting me in the head. I was sent away and kept going back to help and the planks would hit me three times in a row. He told me you just got hit three in a row and that’s when the light bulb moment happened.
. I wanted to hold on to the name and use it for the company. Its basically everything we love to do my dad holds down the movie side and I hold down the music and television side of the company. My label is also within the company so I’m gathering artists and I do tracks for other artists. I Am Ro - Its the biggest introduction I can make musically, there was a lot of music I made previously. This song is the best representation of where I am now musically. I always want people to be influenced by the happiness in my music. RoShon the actor - Spiderman 2 was the smallest, largest part of my life. Even though it was a small part, it was huge for me. I actually live on the corner where the scene was shot, here in Los Angeles. For the Disney channel, I did Camp Rock 1 and 2 I’ve also done a lot of behind the scenes work for them as well. Before all of that, I was in a lot of commercials. Tips for child actors - You have to stay focused in this business, this has to be your passion. Take classes so you can be really comfortable in what you’re doing, be confident in knowing who you are. The process to get started is a little crazy, you have to get an agent and everything. There are a lot of programs out there, some are legitimate and some are not. You really don’t have to pay anything to be an actor, you don’t pay an agent the agent pays you. If you need headshots, that is your expense but don’t pay anyone to get an audition or to be your agent. What’s next for RoShon - I’m working on some things and they are life changing for myself as well as my family. Its going to be really good for my musical platform, it’s something I never thought I would be apart of. I also have a T shirt line in the works as well, lots of good stuff going on. For more information - I call my fans my Robots; you can find me everywhere Twitter @YaboyRo, YouTube is where you can see what I’m doing by simply typing in RoShon. My Facebook is RoShonMusic and my website www. roshonmusic.com which is being revamped. Last words - I want to say thank you to all my Robots, I love the love and support. I can’t wait to come out to ATL and everywhere to meet them. I can’t wait for you to hear the EP, keep supporting me. 09
Jae Michelle
How would you describe the music you make? Well, my style is Soul/R&B. With that being said, I think my songs tell a story. Each one takes you to a place & makes you feel pure emotion whether it’s happy, sad, angry or indifferent. What unique quality do you feel you bring to the industry? Realness. I know it’s trying to come back, but I feel my music – from the instrumentation to the lyrics – bring back that feeling of real life & love, the energy that the old classics still have when we hear them today. Who are some of the artists you credit with influencing your sound? Definitely Whitney Houston, may she rest in peace. She taught me how to sing with conviction. Then there’s Lauryn Hill who showed me that you can be commercial & still have a real story to tell. How would you explain your sound and the experience you offer the listener. It’s different, more of fusion of soul, jazz & funk. The experience is more of an energy felt than just a hot track being heard. Though I do love bass, I’m a musician at heart so the instrumentation must complement my vocals, not cover them. With that combination I hope to take you through the roller coaster ride of emotions that life often takes us on. Please give any current or future projects we can look forward to. I’m so excited to announce here that I JUST decided to start an unplugged project! (Like a week ago LOL) A live album is what I’ve always dreamed of doing & it’s just time. I’m projecting an early 2013 date but I will keep everyone posted. How do people find out more information about you and the great things you are doing? I have music on reverbnation.com/jaemichelle & you can follow me on twitter @iamjaemichelle. What last words would you like to offer the readers? Great music is beginning to be played again, but there’s so many more great artists out there to be heard, music with DEPTH. They, We, I need support! Search for it, when you find it the reward is priceless.

How would you describe the music you make? The music I make is very much so a reflection of my life. If I were to describe it, to me it has a traveling dark Tim Burton feel but evolves into a colorful painted picture. I’m very big on making records you can escape from life and go into the world I live in. I love records with a heartbeat that leads off to a wonderful goose bumps feeling. If I can make a dish of what I sound like, a short list would be the genius work of N.E.R.D, The Neptunes, Kanye West, Nirvana, Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, Ryan Leslie, and Jamiroquai. How did you and L.O.U.D come together? I met Derrick (LOUD) from a group that I produced. Later we built a relationship from being at the studio together while I was secretly making my own project and we later created the label. Being that you are a producer, writer, singer and rapper what unique quality do you feel youbring to the industry? I bring my story, my vision and my trials through life on my records. I love that I’m blessed to be able to soundtrack my life and score it at the same time. I feel that’s unique in its own way. I’m able to express my records in so many ways and bless people doing it. Also a diverse sound, I tend to hit all genres! Who are some of the artists you credit with influencing your sound? Genius work of Pharrell, Kanye West, Jamiroquai, Michael Jackson, John Mayer, Ryan Leslie, Wil.i.am, daft punk, Timbaland, Missy Elliot, Foo fighters, Phil Collins, Snoop, The Black Keys, Kirk Franklin, so much more. For those who are unaware, please describe your Sky High mixtape and the experience you offer the listener? I mapped out Sky High like a movie. It’s a story about a female robot which I fell in love with and she took me from earth and took me to her planet to experience a new life. So on the intro of the mixtape, she tells me it’s time for me to return back to earth and tell everybody about my experience, but most of the experiences that are on there are actual things that I was dealing with at the time though... Please give any current or future projects we can look forward to. I’m currently working on my project called @Timned. I want to invite all ears and hearts through my pain, my happiness, my trials, my dreams, and my canvas that I painted out. The ability of growth in a mans life soars in the records I constructed. How do people find out more information about you and the great things you are doing? Follow me @Timned, www.loudmuzik.com, Facebook.com/Tim.ned, instagram: timned, tumblr: Timned YouTube channel: ibtim, loudmuzik2011. Or just Google TimNed lol. What last words would you like to offer the readers? Live Out Ur Dreams! Put God first and u will not be defeated!

Repo introduces himself to you - Repo G. Promise, CEO @ Streets So Mean, Music Group (SSM_MG) I’ve been in Atlanta living permanently for the last four years. ’ve been doing music my whole life, when I was younger my uncle had a company here in Atlanta called Outhouse Entertainment. I was always in the studio with Jazze Pha, Kelly Price and a bunch of different artists. I caught the music bug, grew up and went to school on a baseball scholarship. After I finished college, I opted to go the other direction so I’m in music. Repo’s definitive moment - It was after I finished college, baseball was fun but it wasn’t something I really wanted to do. I would rather do something I love as opposed to something I like. I’m great at baseball but I love music. I ended up working on some projects in St. Louis, through those situations I linked up with people in Atlanta. Me & My Best friend Mario Hamilton (RIP Slim Dunkin) & Waka Flocka Flame started a forceful campaign out of Clayton County, GA however I separated myself from them in 2010 for personal reasons. I’ve been here working bymyself ever since. The many titles - I’m a producer, actor, songwriter, artist, I compose and arrange but my favorite out of them all is being an artist. I like to give my message to people, I want to inspire them and make an impact. My favorite artist was Tupac, I feel like no one has been as impactful as he has been on the Hip Hop perspective of music. I want to make meaningful music, big music.
Repo What Repo sounds like - If you take the natural emotion you experience from the moment you hear the beat & relay it into lyrics & vocals, that would be my sound. I’m not trying to be funny, I’m being modest but honest. when I’m making my music I incorporate everything I’ve learned. Its a formula to it, I feel like a lot of people are breaking the formula who are not successful at it. Who am I to go against the formula? I try to utilize it and make my music good too. Why Tupac influenced Repo so much - Tupac was influential, he just wasn’t a rapper. He was an artist, actor, and did a lot of different things. He was involved in the community, he was conscious of what was going on in society and relayed it back to people. Tupac was big, he wasn’t one of those artists who could be remembered for right now. He is remembered forever because he left a message on everybody, it invaded you whether you wanted to hear it or not. By the time he passed, everybody felt like it was too soon. No matter if you were black or white, you knew who Tupac was and what he had going on. If you didn’t know, you wanted to know. He was impactful, I just want to be impactful. What’s next for Repo - Right now, I’m working on my EP. I have a few labels looking at me but I’m just trying to remain humble and continue to work and make good music. It’s simple - make good music, cater to the people that love me. A lot of things in life get thrown off because they worry about people that don’t love them. My concern is to satisfy the people who love and care about me. Who is Repo? Repo is Timothy Maurice Nickson, I got the name Repo from my uncle. Repo is short for Repossession, he felt I have the ability to take music back to where it was. Right now, I feel like music is lost - its lost its meaning, its feeling and everything else about it. My uncle said the type of music I make, the way that I work; I have the ability of taking it back where good music is being

made. Streets So Mean Music Group(SSM_MG) - That’s the team! I chose that name after the fatal murder of my best and most cherished friend Mario Hamilton (Slim Dunkin). We’re working with a few different people and trying to develop ourselves as a production team. We want to be the full circle - writers, production, artists the whole package. You will see us real soon because we working. We are a family who love each other, we are working toward one common goal. What Repo knows now - Be careful of who you trust. Make sure you have people around you for the right reasons that have your best interests at heart. For more info - Email me at repo.str8cash@gmail.com, hit me up on Twitter @_1Repo if you hitme up I will comment back. I’m a cool guy, not hard to find. Last words - Don’t give up, that’s the easy thing to do. Don’t try something else because that’s the easy thing to do. Do what you love, commit to what you love. It will eventually happen. Before I end this interview, I would like to use this magazine as a mediator between myself and my fallen friend, MARIO HAMILTON... Although we fussed & fought a lot it was all for the bettering of us. I loved you like a brother. We went through so much together and I’m sorry I let your death meet you b4 our reconciliation. You were a great man and 24 years was far too short for this world to experience you. Many people think they know Slim Dunkin, I’m proud to have been the Brother of Mario Hamilton! I love you bro! Marc Jacobs announced recently he is working on a makeup line with Sephora. Marc stated “I see makeup, fragrance — everything, really — as an opportunity. The idea of choosing a color for your lip, or an eyeliner — it’s just such a delight. The ritual of waking up and making those choices is something people really enjoy. We currently are working on defining what Marc Jacobs cosmetics will be, what they’ll say, what makes them distinctive. I think that will take some time, but the first meeting was good.” With Tom Ford, Vera Wang launching makeup lines this year, we can’t wait to see the first few products.

While in Miami for Miami International Fashion Week, I had the pleasure of interviewing Maria Hamilton about her new collection Evolution. How she would describe the new collection Evolution - My jewelry line is based on nature; the collection shows a lot of butterflies, dragonflies, snakes and leopards. The main stones I am using for this collection is sapphires, I’m combining gold and silver. Its a very nice collection, its very versatile and anyone can wear it. What inspired Maria to start her line - I’ve always loved jewelry and I designed pieces for myself. It started as a hobby, and after two years it is a business. We’ve know opened Maria Hamilton Jewelry up to the marketplace, we also design pieces for private clients as well. I’ve been doing the line since 2009 and I have a store based in Boca Raton, Florida. In 2010, I entered my first competition in Boston and in 2011 I entered the competition for Miami Fashion Week and I won the award. This year, I decided to showcase the pieces and I was fortunate to be invited as a guest on the runway. My pieces opened the runway shows, I was so excited. With this collection, I feature sapphires, rubies and any stones you can think of. I would describe my jewelry as a contemporary line, its dressy and casual at the same time. I would invite you to go to my website www.mariahamiltondesigns.com there you can find full high definition pictures of the pieces. The collections include earrings, bracelets, necklaces, I do everything and I love statement pieces. For more information - You can visit the site www.mariahamiltondesigns.com and you can reach me at 561-400-5383.

Android users worldwide were happy to hear reports of Instagram finally being introduced to the Google Play (formerly Android) Market. While still adapting to that news, the world had no idea what else the guys at Instagram had up their sleeve. Instagram + Facebook = $1 Billion. That equation got everyone’s attention. While some are happy about the integration plans, nost don’t really know what to expect. The only thing that is for certain is Instagram definitely pulled off one of the biggest mergers of the year so far. According to various reports, Instagram will maintain their independent status which likely means they willl still handle all support issues. Only time will tell how this will all play out but I kind of wished the Instagram team would have posted the check from Facebook.

Only 20 will be constructed, and all will feature a golden dragon on the hood framed by gold and black striping. The mythical creature is a popular theme this year for Chinese special editions, which makes sense given that 2012 is the Year of the Dragon. Ferrari also says it was inspired by a Chinese idiomatic theme dubbed longma; it means “the vigor and spirit of the legendary dragon-horse. The exterior is finished in an exclusive hue called Marco Polo Red, presumably in honor of the most well-known early European traveler to China. Comes fitted with a 20 20th Anniversary Special Edition commemorative plaque. Priicing - To be determined.
