An awesome full game for the girls! The girls went out firing at the start and proved why they are sitting top of the ladder, the goalies worked well together and the midcourters fed in with patience and precision Our defenders worked hard all game with second efforts all over the court. We knew today would be a challenge for us - we started very well, and the game was a fierce contest from the get-go! The game was continually changing leads for all four quarters. We worked hard across the court and had some fantastic passages of play bringing the ball down into attack. Our defenders always have a tough game against the tall and versatile shootersfromtheCats!Agamethatwent down to the wire and unfortunately, we lost by 3. Imogen went on at GA and Aleisha moved to the Centre spot. From there we went on with our game, Imogen and Lucy have played together for most of the past few years and know each other well and again both girls shooting with accuracy, holding and leading for the ball. A win by39goalsforus.
I thought we all took responsibility for our own positions today and had a solid game. Aleisha slotted in brilliantly at GA and our defence end worked tirelessly causing many turnovers. Sarah was a strong target under the post and Mik had her best game for the season. Tara was strong in bothattackanddefence.ThankstoAnnaandLucy forbenchingforus, wereallyappreciateit!!

Lila was a big target for us all day, finishing off accurately Lara and Miley played the perfect role at GA with Ella, Swaye and Lara creating space in attack and feeding our goalies beautifully Maggy, Alice and Mikayla applied pressure all game and really limited South's attack. Let's bring the form we have had in the last couple of games into this week. We played a dominate first quarter This really stamped our authority and intention for the game! Tahlia was holding brilliantly all day and our transitions were very impressive with Gracie and Carlee finding great space and providing amazing feeds Anna ran hard all day and provided some great pressure in defence! Chelsea works tirelessly in defence every game and today was another great display by her Maddie managed to get so many touches and is reading the play beautifully! Theykeptup the fight the whole game and fought very hard for each turnover Very strong defensive pressure seen the whole way up and down the court Defenders worked well and provided our attackers with numerous turnovers and shots on goal. Amazing efforts by our mid courters who were able to feed the ball to our endlessly working goalies, moving around the ring to create the opportunities for goals. Some brilliant passes into our girls with Lucy holding her player and pulling in some fantastic high balls. Welldonetothegirlstoday, itwasavery close game!!! Unfortunately, we were unable to match East as they scored a fewlast-minute goals. From training drills our game focus was constant ball pressure, blocking initial drives & forcing the opposition to play wide. This defensive pressure created moreopportunitiesforourdefendersto challenge and achieve important deflections & interceptions. Everyone played a confident attacking game displaying good decision making & timing. There were numerous passages of play where the ball flowed freely into ourgoalers.

A slow start yesterday which ended up costing us, going down to East 35-31. The pressure and physicality from the first centre pass had us trying to force plays, challenged our decision making and impacted our accuracy on the scoreboard. To the girl’s credit, we were able to settle and close the gap from quarter time with some great passages of play which we will look to build from. Asolideffortfromthegirlsyesterdayled by our captains Keeley Quinn and Hannah Fox who showed great leadership and set the standards on court. We’ve been playing some great netball in the past few weeks, and we look to continue this into the final two rounds.

The patients and moving around the attack line looked great, the full court defence was causing lots of turnovers andthedefencelineweresolidasarock with Nat and Riley reading the play well and helping ensure the transition out of defence was straight down the line and linking well with the attack line. It is always a tough day coming up against the polished Millicent side. We started well and it’s nice to see the team settling into their positions and playing as a team, backing each other up. Chelsey Galpin and Chloe Fosterhavebeenmovingtheballwell through the middle of the court and their cut and drive movements have been working well, opening up space for each other. The second quarter was a tough one but Madeline Patton’s defensive pressure slowed down the Millicent WA, allowing our defenderstogethandstoalotofball. ThegoaliesofIvy LaneandMadalene Cleary hit their stride in the second half with perfect movement and teamwork That coupled with the defensive pressure and turnovers coming from Caeleigh Humphries and Ebany Jarrad made for a strong finishthatwewerehappywith.
