Clothing distribution drive a resounding success

Pictured are Revive volunteers who participated in the clothing distribution drive Local charity organization revive held a successful clothing distribution drive on Saturday, at the Mdoniville Community Hall. The initiative benefitted the underprivileged through the distribution if high quality preowned clothing items.

Children from as young as 3months, with the oldest beneficiary being 78-years-old, participated.

“We saw the likes of a football coach who shopped for his team, also a church elder from

Melville who was glad to take some goodies for the church. Also various flood victims from Lot 14 attended and enjoyed their spree.

“Revive's intent is to 'REVIVE' the true spirit of humanity, bringing together individuals from different cultures, race and religion and creating an impact in our community.

“A huge thank you to every individual that donated, assisted with the drive and distribution. We would like to place on record the assistance of Black Tiger Protection for their service at controlling the intake and flow,” stated revive. Collection for pre-loved clothing items still continues. Donors are welcome to drop off items at Gori's, 21 - 23 Chief Albert Luthuli Street, KwaDukuza. Alvena Govender & Associates

Alvena Govender started her legal studies in 2009 and subsequently graduated and qualified as an attorney. She served her articles at Rakesh Maharaj & Company wherein she gained invaluable experience in Criminal, Civil, labour, divorces, and various other areas of law. She thereafter opened her own practise trading as Alvena Govender & Associates

The firm specialises in property sales and transfers and Ms Govender is also a registered real estate agent with the Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority. The unique firm offers bond origination services, transfer of property and assisting clients to buy and sell their property.

She currently holds an LLB and Masters in Corporate law(LLM). At present Ms Govender has been awarded a bursary to further her studies and complete her Doctorate in Law. Govender intends on specialising her LLD in property law. Her message to the youth is that life has no limitations, except the ones you make. Set yourself goals and work hard to achieve them. Most importantly, the only way to do great work is to love what you do!
