Naturhouse Raid Team is a small Spanish team, participating in the Dakar Classic 2022. After having participated in Dakar Classic 2021, finishing 4th in the general standings and 3rd in H1 group, their challenge for Dakar 2022 was ambitious to climb to the podium in the general standings. Kilian Revuelta: “Although we did not meet what we set ourselves, we managed to finish 5th in the general standings and 2nd in our group.”
The team, for this 2022 event includes two vehicles; a 1996 Toyota Landcruiser and a Pegaso Egyptian truck which is also racing (POS.124, 16 H1T). The Toyota is driven by Kilian Revuelta and co-driven by Mariano de Quadros. The truck is driven by Francisco del Pozo and codriven by Daniel Cesteros, with 3rd member Gustavo de Castro.
Kilian Revuelta: “This Dakar Classic has been very tough; the level has gone up compared to 2021. In 2021 the Classic had 26 participants and this year there were 146 participants. The team had to work hard, as any misunderstanding could make you sink in the standings. We managed to be 2nd overall in the third stage (leaving 1st) but after a navigational error in the fourth stage we fell to position 17. From that stage, it was a constant battle against the sand, the other competitors and ourselves, to climb day-by-day, until we managed to finish 5th in the general standings and 2nd in the H1 class.
The Pegaso truck, not only had to fight in the race, but when the race ended it had to take care of the camp and the assistance of the Toyota, always demonstrating the Dakar spirit of yesteryear.”
