Independent designer— ANNDERSTAND • Overview : The best marketing platforms are official web site, Instagram, Pinterest and other visual mobile apps. Since ANNDERSTAND uses simple color to show its idea and spirit, strong visual contrast can attract customer’s attention. Women can grasp the latest fashion trends and information at the first time. • Primary audience: The target audiences of ANNDERSTAND are modern urban women who want to wear minimalism clothes on the street, on the work and go to bars. Most of them are fashion followers; they want to find some small functional items on their apparels. They prefer simple colors to show their fashion tastes. • Tone and imagery: ANNDERSTAND is a new high-end fashion brand that imparts a sense of fusion, innovation and craftsmanship. Every season, ANNDERSTAND showcases the brand spirit and launches limited collaboration products inspired by oriental-western fusion and soft rock music to produce design-led wearable pieces with finest quality craftsmanship. It uses simple colors, such as white, black, and grey. It also gives customers a sense of mystery, elegance and utilization. • Message: ANNDERSTAND inspired by the word understand, meaning products are created with understanding urban female and attest to ANNDERSTAND’s commitment to provide the latest in cutting-edge and wearable style. Ge YU, a woman who was born in China and grew up both in China and Japan, established this brand in 2016. She educated at Parsons The New School for Design, after she gained the design experience at Ports 1961 and Ralph Lauren, she worked for luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton and Gucci in retail and merchandising department as a RTW buyer. I want to use color contrast to express the spirit of ANNDERSTAND and evoke audience’s emotional bonding with brand.

Personal Blog • Overview: I want to introduce myself on the website. This website page includes my resume, projects, blogs, photos and contact methods. I will use this website to show my personalities, so I want my readers feel happy when they review. • Primary audience: People who want to know something about me, they can also read my personal feelings about some events and fashion trends. My target customer age ranges from 17 to 30, who have some basic fashion knowledge. • Tone and imagery: Since this is my personal website, I will use some soft colors to comfort my audiences. Pink, blue, yellow, these candy colors can make my page a little bit cute. My target readers are young people, so I will avoid dark colors and give them a fresh feeling. • Message: I will tell my audience some latest fashion information and my personal feelings about fashion shows. In my website, audiences feel relax and avoid busy work. Light and soft colors can make them feel comfortable. If it is possible, I will post some soft music or interesting videos to engage my readers. • Process: Photoshop, illustration are essential for my website. I need to design my personal logo and fonts.

International corporation—Louis Vuitton pet product • Overview : This project aims to attract pet owners to buy LV new pet accessories and apparels. Since this is a product line extension, it will appear in LV official website. LV has a strict limitation of distribution channel, official website is the best tool to launch these new products and it is convenient for customers to find specific items. • Primary audience: Affluent pet owners and LV loyal consumers who want to know LV pet products and details. These customers have humanized their pets and treat pets as their “fur-baby”. So they want to buy high quality products and give them luxury products. Consumers also want to use these pet products to show their fashion tastes, social status and wealth. • Tone and imagery: This website page will have the similar tone with LV style; it will use dark brown, black and white, these traditional LV colors to show consistency. However, since the products are about pet, such as dogs and cats, I will also use some animal pictures. The core images are still focusing on product details. • Message : Since LV loyal customers are rich and they care about brand value and image, the website will give them a sense of elegance and luxury. Although this website page is about animal product, it still attract these pet owners to follow LV spirit and culture. I will use some fashion shows or pet photos to engage with owners and make them have a sense of belonging. Encouraging them to be more humanizing and be willing to buy luxury accessories for their pets. • Process: Photoshop, illustration are essential for this website page. But the problem is the font. LV has its special letter font, so I need to find similar one.

Thinking During the process, I use Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator to finish my work. I think it's an interesting process, because I need to create sketches, moodboards and learn these techniques from the begining. But I have to say I really get a lot of knowledge from this project. For me, the biggest challenge is gathering the ideas for the sketches. I reviewed a lot of examples from pinterest, and then I made my own work. Another big challenge is breaking the brand's traditional imagery and finding new appropiate pictures. For instance, the traditional color of Louis Vuitton is black and brown, however, I change them into black and dark pink to make sure they are not boring. I have to say I really like my work and I enjoy the whole processing.
