In addition to creating these inspiring collections, our team ventured to Los Angeles with renowned photographer Douglas Friedman to shoot “rock and roll florist” Jeff Leatham for the first time in his Melrose home, to New York to go behind the scenes of luxury decor brand Michael Aram and inside one of London’s most prestigious private members’ clubs. We created the Style Guide to help you discover pieces you love from around the globe, and I’d like to personally thank our brands, partners and all of the hard-working LuxDeco team that have made this possible. Wishing you an enjoyable and stylish spring/summer.

The Tastemaker

Jeff Leatham J

eff Leatham certainly lives and breathes his moniker of “rock and roll florist”. He counts Oprah Winfrey, the Kardashians, Sofia

Vergara and Eva Longoria as clients (and friends for that matter) as well as His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Clintons; he’s been the artistic director of the Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris for 17 years; and, as if that wasn’t enough, he’s a sir! “I play it down but sometimes you gotta bring it out for parties,” the playful designer says of his framed Chevalier de Ordre des Arts et des Lettres medallion – an Order of France awarded to those who have made significant contributions to the arts. It sits on his bookshelf surrounded by design tomes – three of which he’s written – near a black and white photograph of Marilyn Monroe and a candid photo booth shot of himself, Kris Jenner and Corey Gamble. It’s ironic that he does play down such a notable coup, of course, since the concept is notably nonexistent in the vocabulary of his professional life. His stunning designs aren’t just nice to look at – they are, in all earnest, unforgettable living artworks in which nothing is too extravagant. Style Notes

Summer Entertaining S

ummer dining is all about the great outdoors – enjoying the sunny vibe, gentle breeze and vistas that can only be experienced by

relocating your eating arena outside. Easy preparation dishes are the only direction to go in for this kind of relaxed entertaining. Keep meals light, ingredients flavourful and accents fresh for fare that feels straight out of a Mediterranean holiday. Colourful salads look so appealing, taste even more so and take next to no time to prepare; a main course of fish with mixed grilled vegetables is suitably seasonal; and for dessert, something fruity works beautifully. As the Italians call it, “la dolce far niente” (or “the sweetness of doing nothing”)

finds in summer a more-than-worthy companion. So choose a dish, have some friends over and bask in the often forgotten pleasure of just being. U N LOCK E XCLU S IVE CO N TE N T W ITH TH E LU X D E C O A P P

ollywood’s golden age of starlets and spotlights inspires the glamour that exudes from the Sasperella

stools. Majoring in overstatement in all the right ways, the stools delight with a combination of gilded framework and playful Mongolian sheepskin upholstery. The flirtatious pair – which feature mirroring cantilevered bases – have been skillfully designed and crafted by British artisans as a LuxDeco exclusive. Their clever design renders them a triple threat – an elegant bench when pushed together, occasional seating for extra guests or the most sumptuous footstools you’ve ever encountered. rom the studio of popular British artist Ben Lowe comes Out To Lunch (2015) – the newest installment in

the artist’s oeuvre of emotionally charged abstract creations. Featuring a nearly indistinguishable bustling London scene, the original oil painting is characteristic of Lowe’s very personal connection with his subject. “London's energy and magnitude never ceases to excite and inspire me,” the creative explains. The work’s use of a subtle palette, favouring texture and energetic brushstrokes instead, draws the viewer’s attention to their interpretation of the scene, making it a thought-provoking piece. How To

Create a Show Home Bed 1. Stock the basics. You’ll need: a luxurious down duvet (one that can be adjusted seasonally is even better), a top and bottom sheet, a duvet set (paying attention to both thread count and the material composition of the yarn), a bedspread and matching shams, a throw and decorative cushions. 2. Create a beautiful foundation with a neutral backdrop of superior quality linens which never go out of style. Layer fluffy pillows in multiple rows for that inviting bedtime look. 3. Add colour and texture to your perfectly made foundation by including finishing accents. A woven or plain throw and patterned cushions are additions that can be changed seasonally so step outside of the safe zone and try something new and interesting.
