About Me I am XU Jiali from Fujian Province, mainland China. After graduating from the major of Industrial Design at Huaqiao University, I have been designing lamps in Leedarson Lighting (Xiamen) Co., Ltd. The technology of 3D printing could create objects of almost any shape or geometry. Its application in lamp design makes light and shadow with an artistic visual result.

Inspiration Flowers & Stone
Flowers in blossom with various shapes and appearances, elegant and vibrant, are all beautiful elements.
Compared with the charming flowers, stones always offer people a sense of simplicity. Such a striking contrast results in a comfortable sense of visual impact.

Product test
I adjust the shape and proportion continually, and then make models to test the most suitable size of product and man-machine interaction. In the final stage, engineers would design the inner structure and optical engineers would design and test the lighting functions.

礟 Etiquette Lighting Design 2016
Chinese traditional culture & Modern lighting technology

Fist and palm salute has a history of more than 2000 years. Since the West Zhou Dynasty, people had already adopted this etiquette when meeting peers. Chinese people show their modesty as well as their respect for others through such a kind of conventional etiquette.

Traditional Chinese Etiquette

Design Philosophy Inspired by traditional Chinese etiquettes, I adopted the similar gestures to control the light switch. The linear wooden design makes my products neat and appealing.
I firstly use freehand sketches to adjust the scale and proportion, then make use of 3D printing technology to print my models in same-ratio sizes, and finally try to install lights to test the outcome.

Instructions The lamp is divided into two parts. Turn on the switch firstly; when the annular part is static, the lamp stand will light up with warm light; while when the annular begins to move upwards, the center lamp stand will dim and the annual part will start to provide local lighting.

Research With different form of combination, many lamp bars can become fantastic lamps.

Design a complex module for lamps and then use different combination or suspension modes to achieve a lighting fitting assembly. In this way, the serialization of products will be available.

Desk light Design 2015
Design a table light with the streamline form of plane as model sample. The air is so clean and gentle, just like a plane quietly passes an island.

Every time when we turn on the table light, we seem to begin a new journey of flight and to strive for a new height.
Research
1. Adopt warm white light source: color temperature ranges from 3200 to 3400K 2. Test of illumination intensity: Suppose the light source center is 400mm over the desk, the illumination intensity with the range of 750-1000 Lx will provide the best eyesight-friendly luminous environment. 26

Such design is inspired by the scene of meditation, aiming to create serene atmosphere that is close to nature. Thus, stone is chosen to be the prototype.

The dimension • The proportion is just appropriate, coordinated and consistent.
• Aim : To provide a place of being alone for the busy urbanite, for them to enjoy the slow-paced life. • Concept : By applying the archetype of stone and the idea of being close to nature, the design is to have more in-depth meaning. • Model : The design combines dynamics of the ripple and statics of the stone, highlights the contrast of bright color and white elegance, and emphasizes the unity of various textures. 33

The word “cat-slave� emerges with the development of the society, the love and reliance that people shows for pets is no less than that for their family members. Thus, more and more home designs take account into the interaction between human and cats. 36

Knit is a form of traditional Chinese art. In our memory ,we all had an precious sweater knitted ye our mother of grandmother. As a result , we are easy to have warm feeling to such kind of stuff. This is a handbag with pattern of leaves. The round body make it big enough to take cellphone ,coin purse, cards and so on.
