Due to covid 19 the general public have been isolated at home for months on end with limited equipment's, no form of entertainment, lack of mental stability and limited air flow so the question is, are our homes really equipped to quarantine people?

The target user for this residential space is a family of 5 who have been isolated for months in a conjusted space. They feel suffocated staying in a very enclosed space and have had an increase in stress, depression and anxiety. They would like a space that not only brings them calmness but makes them feel in touch with the outside

To design a space for a family of 5 that not only caters towards their needs but also helps them feel a sense of calmless and brings the nature of outside to inside so they feel less suffocated and enclosed during this tough lockdown times.

The Issues Depression and anxiety – Staying at home increased self anxiety, depression, self doubts about oneself E l e c t r i c i t y U s a g e – To o m u c h electrical usage causes weekly power cut-offs, increase in electricity bill and eye-sight worsen Sickness – Due to the house being unequipped to quarantine the family for this long, there has been an increase in sickness mentally and physically Gain weight – Increase in expcessive stress eating which leads to gain weight

The Solution To h e l p s o l ve m a j o r i t y o f t h e a t h o m e issue, the proposal concept has been to apply a more natural approach. Bring the outside to the inside by adding the elements of a Biophilic Design that also brings a touch of calmness and serenity to the household. The poster to the left shows how the plants and flowers bring colours to the body through the sense of smell while the anxiety of being enclosed bring dullness
