This is an intersectional feminist zine created by Ayotola, Camille, Shani and Yaa for a Women's, Gender and Sexuality Class. In it, we analyze beauty standards using instagram and the recent MAC incident as a model. As women of color it is easy to internalize society's messages that try to devalue our worth and beauty- this is why it was so important to us to recognize and break down how this happens. We chose to do this through a zine because that makes our message more accessible and free from the academic jargon that often dehumanizes our lived experiences while isolating the very people that it pertains to.
