YAKIMA VALLEY COLLEGE Yakima Valley College (YVC) is a public two-year institution of higher education serving Yakima, Kittitas, and Klickitat counties. It has campuses in Yakima and Grandview, and learning centers in Ellensburg, Toppenish, and Sunnyside. YVC offers bachelor of applied science degrees, associate degrees, and certificates of achievement. It also offers GED, High School 21+, Step Up to College, and English Language Acquisition (ELA) enrichment courses.

YVC was established in 1928. YVC is one of only five federally designated Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI) in the state of Washington. This designation is based on the percentage of Hispanic and Pell eligible students enrolled. A majority (66%) of YVC students are students of color. 83% of students are First Generation college students, and 71% of students are Pell eligible. Among all WA colleges and universities, YVC has the highest % of Hispanic students enrolled at 60%. With over 750 undocumented students, YVC serves the largest undocumented student population among the 34 community and technical colleges in Washington State. YVC disbursed over $24m in funds assisting students in 2018-19: including over $17m in grants & waivers, $4.8m in student loans, and $1.5m in scholarships. Among WA colleges that offer associate degrees, YVC has the highest percentage of Hispanic graduates. More than half of YVC graduates earning degrees and certificates are persons of color. Of students entering YVC seeking a certificate or degree, 67% will complete a credential or transfer (6-yr award rate).
