The largest performing group Conductor at the Yale School of Music, the Philharmonia offers superb krista johnson training in orchestral playing and repertoire. Managing Director Performances include an annual series of concerts in Woolsey Hall, as well as Yale Opera productions in the Shubert Theater. roberta senatore The Yale Philharmonia has also performed on numerous Librarian and occasions in Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and the Kennedy Production Assistant Center. The orchestra undertook its first tour of Asia in 2008, with acclaimed performances in the Seoul Arts Center, the Forbidden City Concert Hall and National Center for the Performing Arts (Beijing), and the Shanghai Grand Theatre.

Yang Jiao is currently a conducting fellow at the Yale School of Music, where he studies with Professor Shinik Hahm. He also serves as assistant conductor of the Philharmonia Orchestra of Yale and ensembles for New Music New Haven concerts. Yang graduated from the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, where he studied conducting with Xin Xu and Yi Zhang and was assistant conductor to Professor Yongyan Hu. In 2006, Yang was awarded a prize at the Shenzhen National Conducting Competition in China. He has been invited annually to conduct at the Beijing Modern Music Festival. Yang has participated in conducting master classes with Daniel Harding and Peter Oundjian. He was the resident guest conductor of the Lanzhou Symphony Orchestra in China from 2008 to 2010. As a pianist, Yang was awarded a silver medal in the First National Piano Competition for the German Beethoven Festival at 2004.
adrian slywotzky conductor
Adrian Slywotzky has been active as a musician in the New Haven area since 1998. For the last three years he has been the director of the New Haven Chamber Orchestra, and he is the founding conductor of the Yale Medical Symphony Orchestra. Following his passion for teaching, Adrian has worked as an educator throughout New England. Since 2005 he has been on the conducting staff of the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras, and he is interim conductor of the Greater New Haven Youth Orchestra for the 2008–2010 seasons. For five years he was the director of instrumental music at Hopkins School in New Haven, and he has taught at Neighborhood Music School, Elm City ChamberFest, and the Southern Maine String Camp. As a violinist, Adrian has participated in festivals including Tanglewood Music Center, California Summer Music, and the Norfolk Contemporary Music Festival. Adrian holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in architecture from Yale College, where he studied violin with Kyung Yu, and a Master of Music degree in violin performance from the Yale School of Music, where he studied with Wendy Sharp. He is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree in orchestral conducting at the Yale School of Music, where he studies with Shinik Hahm.
