a note from the leadership collective...

In a world where love, joy, acceptance, and understanding are not universal, the Development Studio 49 team believes in the power of the arts to foster empathy, care, and pride. DS49 and our staff, creative team, and artists are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, gender non-conforming, queer, and, and, and... We hope that through this BIG, GAY, LOUD, and BRIGHT production, we can help promote a more inclusive and compassionate community where everyone is free to express themselves authentically and without fear. We're so grateful that you're with us to celebrate the joyful space we are all creating tonight. Always continue to be your loud, proud, and gay self–and don't forget to tip your performers! ❤

– Adrian, Maya, Mikayla, and Sarah about a place to nourish your health (APNH)...

APNH mission

We provide services for those who face stigma or challenges in receiving culturally competent care.

APNH vision

Our vision is a community where everyone has access to high quality, relationship based, holistic care to inspire health and well-being and to empower people at risk of, or impacted by, HIV, substance use, mental illness and related conditions.

APNH history

AIDS Project New Haven is the first and oldest AIDS service organization in the state of Connecticut and has been providing services to infected and affected individuals for the past 35 years in the Greater New Haven area. Our original mission was to provide education, non-judgmental, comprehensive and holistic services to individuals infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Begun as a volunteer organization responding to the need to give compassionate care to individuals infected with HIV, educate the public and assist clients, mostly gay men at the time, end their lives with dignity, APNH has grown to include a professional staff of sixteen, a team of contract mental health, substance abuse and medical providers and hundreds of volunteers providing services to a diverse client base. We are committed to providing culturally sensitive, nonjudgmental, confidential and comprehensive services. We have established a high level of trust in the community among clients, funders, and collaborators and have continually adapted our services to the changing impact of the epidemic and needs of individuals living with HIV/AIDS in our community.
