PERSONAL PROFILE
WORK EXPERIENCE I am an ambitious, driven, and resourceful thirdyear architecture student at the University of Bath searching for work experience for my second term. I am a dedicated and hard-working candidate that aims to give my full potential as an Architectural Assistant. My passion for architecture has been growing and flourishing since the beginning of my course. Architecture for me is a beautiful and intricate art. It is a combination of power, culture, and emotion that shapes the era we live in. It is fascinating to me how our emotions shift from one space to another further emphasizing the power architecture has. From every individual’s mind, a unique creation flourishes acting as a parallel between their imagination and their perception of the world. Throughout my placement, I seek to learn how I can use my imagination further to create beautiful and sustainable spaces. I am excited to work with a team of professional and inspiring architects.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND INTERESTS Architecture Initially encaptured by the feeling of spaces, my passion for architecture began. Through this, my curiosity for how a building comes to fruition both creatively and constructively arose. It amazes me how architecture differs based on the client, country, or heritage, resulting in a different emotional connection to the space. Being able to understand this and capture it in a building is what creates beautiful designs. More recently, I’ve been intrigued by the modern and traditional methods of creating a vernacular and sustainable design.
Photoshop IN-Design Auto-CAD Sketchup 3ds Max Archi-CAD Lumion
Culture I’ve lived in three different countries: Lebanon, Nigeria, and currently the UK, each of which is enriched with diversity in culture, art, and tradition. This experience allowed me to form a greater understanding of the cultural impact on architecture and has widened my appreciation for such diversity. In addition, traveling around the world and experiencing different countries’ architecture has always been a passion of mine.
Twinmotion V-RAY Adobe Anime Revit Photography Drawing Microsoft Word
Art Since a young age, I have been enriching my art skills through different forms of expression. I have always found it simple to express myself with colors, textures, and strokes, whether it is through a sketch, painting, or a sculpture. I have experience in oil painting, acrylic painting, charcoal, embroidery, clay, model making, and visualizations. In high school, I organized art galleries and presented 12 lifesize pieces for my International Baccalaureate. These pieces later won the IB Visual Arts award.
Hobbies I enjoy maintaining a work-life balance through participating in and coaching sports. In high school, I was part of a horseriding team, volleyball team, and archery team. I am currently on the University Volleyball team, which has helped me to develop my teamwork and leadership skills. Coaching beginners in volleyball has challenged me to organize drills, enhancing my decisionmaking and management skills.

ARCHIVE
YEAR III PROJECT II
ARCHIVE: ‘A collection of historical documents or records providing information about a place , institution or group of people.’
BRIEF
In this project, we tackle contemporary and environmental challenges surrounding the diversity of NYC. On one of three sites in Hell’s Kitchen Manhattan, our building will speak for the marginalized voices in the city: tackling the activism and the neglect of different cultures.
DESIGN
This building focuses on raising awareness of islamophobia in NYC. The three story dwelling is designed in a angular manner. There’s a change in directionality in which the top floor points towards Mecca. The entire scheme is focused around preserving and expanding nature around the building.
LEARNING OUTCOME
Such a project tackles sustainable and ethical challenges in the modern era. Enforcing the UN sustainability goals and other passivehouse goals, the design of this building shapes my ideal design drivers.
VIEW INTO THE BUILDING
4
The initial trajectory of the space was to the North-West, as this was estimated to be the point with the highest solar gains throughout the year due to the positions of nearby buildings. From there I started designing my spaces accordingly. However, having the reflective space/ prayer space at the top, I wanted to emphasize the East trajectory (where the sun rises but also where Mecca faces). As a result, I decided to have every plan move in an angular form starting from the ground floor up. To further emphasize this I decided to raise the level of the top floor from its corner 1.5 meters up so it feels like it is pointing to the North-East.

Archive
The archive will be located near the center in order to achieve 0 solar gains. Walls are made of hemp lime which act as a moisture buffer that regulates internal humidity.
A susupended ceiling will be placed around non service areas to give a wooden aesthetic similar to the columns and beams
Timber walls and Structure
Internally and through the diagonal walls a pine timber structure will be used. Attachements with the brick wall will be made through steel connections.
Load Bearing Masonry
On the ground floor the building will mostly be made of reclaimed bricks from a local supplier.

POWERHOUSE YEAR III PROJECT I
Ramps and Blocks inserted to build plan
POWERHOUSE Design that encourages diversity while preserving history Client: NYC’s locals Location: New York City
POWERHOUSE YEAR 3
BRIEF
In our brief we were asked to redesign the IRT Powerhouse in NYC, Manhattan into a sub-cultural center to be used by a diverse range of groups.
Dynamic, changeable configurations emerge
DESIGN
As a group, we became very interested in the idea of a grid and how at intersections, connections and vibrancy emerge, even though one would not initially think that an austere and regimented plan would allow for it. It was a playful contradiction that we wanted to explore. Therefore our scheme explores dynamic elements emerging from outward rigidity. There are many public spaces in New York, but this will be the first one that accepts and celebrates the contradictions of the city and juxtapositions of the grid, and what great things can come out from both.
Inhabitable volumes inserted to create spaces
LEARNING OUTCOME
The scheme contains semi-private pods along the sides of the building. The pods are booked by the public and are used for music, art, dance, meeting, workshops, classrooms, and more. This project mainly focused on inclusivity and sustainability through dynamic and fluid design Semi-private, changeable pods emerge
THE POD STRUCTURE The pod structures are dynamic and changeable. To achieve this, the structure consists of a series of frames which can be rearranged and reconfigured depending on the needs of the space.
THE BLOCKS STRUCTURE 500mm Depth Blocks Cork veneer; rods and ground plugs for stability
SINGLE DEPTH BLOCKS AND CORK RAMPS Greatest level of precision in terms of changing plan possibilities.

LIBRARY 1:1000 YEAR II PROJECT II
LIBRARY: Clients: Elderly, professionals, students and children. Site: Bristol Docks (UK))
BRIEF
This project focused on designing a small to medium-sized civil library by the Bristol docks. It challenged the idea of traditional and
modern,
requiring
us
to
design
a
contemporary space to learn and benefit from.
DESIGN The
building
becomes
one
with
the
surroundings, forming an intricate flow from the exterior to interior. The arches formed between columns follow a grid system consistent with the surroundings while providing a pathway into the public spaces of the building.
LEARNING OUTCOME
A library is a space of education , where people of all ages can gather to read, discuss and learn individually or from one another. The design of a library requires detailed thought. It should maintain privacy, while being inclusive and allowing for collaborative work.

MUSEUM PROJECT YEAR II PROJECT I
BRIEF
MUSEUM SUSTAINABILITY
Client: Bristol’s locals Location: Bristol Docks (UK)
BRIEF
To design a street art gallery for a targeted group of people living in Bristol. Context and site analysis were emphasized throughout the project, yet we were encouraged to choose our own themes and clients. There is great fluidity in what can be seen as an ironic design proposal. The first step was to define and interpret what a street art gallery is.
DESIGN
This museum is inspired by Banksy’s work and his technics. Since this street art is based on sending a message, either political or social, the space is to remain public. It invites the public in through its contrast and encourages people to participate in street art. This museum will contain a few permanent pieces as well as some instant on-site pieces, as it is meant to engage with the community and serve as both a canvas and a speaker.
LEARNING OUTCOME
The success of an art gallery is determined on the relationship and effect it has on the visitor. Art is meant to inspire and encourage and there’s no better way to encourage than through opportunity.
Shipping containers are eco-friendly construction options and they are highly available in Bristol. Recycled containers will be used for the bottom floor and will be able to shift around the steel structure. This allows for diverse and creative configuration.
ART Shipping containers also have the benefit of having removable faces. This allows for new art to be sprayed on making the public space more interesting. In addition, some of the art can be given away or sold.
