Starting from drawing our ideal space sequences for the dream house, we try to make it an perfect place for people to hoard in urban environment. We introduced boxes and infrastructure frame as well as a blinding system from ski boots which can be recycled into the house’s construction process, in this way the spaces in our house can change spontaneously according to personal needs, which is so called “hoarding “ spaces”.

Can we keep on urbanization while getting closer to nature at the same time? Can an increase in population coexist with an increase in the quality of life? What role will nature play in such an increase in density of urbanism?

Define the Route

-4.200 4

Standing in the site, you will see the complexity and diversity of modern China crossing together clearly. On the one hand, the Great Canal winding in front of you shows a history of thousands years while on the other hand, high-rise buildings can be seen everywhere when you look around. So it will be a perfect place where people can see the collision between the past and future and take a breath from the tension of everyday work. I will call it The City Hall because it will not only serve as a canal bus stop, but also a hall for everyone in this city.

Add Stairs and Landscape

Three features of City Hall: Openness Penetation Attraction

Under the sysytem of folding space, there is plenty of gray space, e which is open to the public completely. Then the city hall will exist as an open and public space for the city. y The function boxes are independent from each other and connected by public route creating by folding space. Between the function boxes, there are landscape facilities.

Site Analysis 15.20 15.20 1 00

The site is located in historical area with great altitude difference. Different paths that are created according to the local context can generate different kinds of enclosed spaces. Then the site become a sequence of spaces with different spacial qualities: indoor space, outdoor space, gray space, green space. Those spaces combined with the steps on the site can generate a really relaxing environment for different public activities.

Studiot Name: Su Dongpo Memorial / Individual Work Location: HangZhou, WuShan Square Time: 2007. 11-2007.12 In this project, the indoor spaces and the outdoor spaces are considerred as an interrelated whole. A continuous space which is the sum of indoor spaces is embraced by another one which is the sum of outdoor spaces, as left hand and right hand cross together. In this way a harmonious relationship contained nature, buildings and human beings can be formed.

Waterfront Community Studio Name: PennDesign PPD 2011Spring Studio Winka Dubbeldam/ Individual Work Location: Staten Island, New York Time: Spring 2011 As urbanization spread to the eastern portion of Staten Island- the home of New York City’s last large stand of freshwater wetlands, a challenge of preserving the wetlands while providing habitable residence for local neighborhoods is raised. In this waterfront community project, I try to combine the distinct landscape of Staten Island and plastic building products manufactured from recycling plastic which is plentiful resource on Staten Island together, to create a unique community with local elements.

The project brief calls for a response that is iconic in defining city destination. Our version was to create a contemporary statement with an oriental vertone. The concept references twin carp, a typical symbol in Chinese new year paintings synonymous with wealth and abundance.

Name: Ningbo Newtown Office Area Project Location: Ningbo, China Time: Jul,2009-Aug,2009

Traditional alley and the culture of water street are two keys in this project. We decide to apply these two keys by a modern way, which can satisfy modern needs as well as show some kinds of respection to the historical area not far from the site. I did all modeling, most of graphic production and part of design job.
