Product Design
Here to Help This project serve as a class assignment for ergonomic class, the assignment was to design for “Waiting, including a research based on ergonomic and one product drive from this research. Our team chose our research based on fitting room waiting situation, and each one develops his/her own design as a result of the research.
Research
When it comes to rush hour and holiday season, there is always long lines in front of the fitting room of the high-street store.People got nothing but waiting with bore. How does waiting happen? Pre—waiting
In—waiting
What is affecting user experience? Post—waiting
●Shoppers who use dressing rooms are 70% more likely to buy versus those who browse the sales floor at 28%.
The time customer is in line waiting to try clothes.
Customer is at the fittting room, trying close or communicating with the employees.
Customer waits for check or returen their clothes,or waiting for another round.
●Those who use fitting rooms buy approximately two times what the browser buys. And they return less. The pre-waiting porcesure
The In-waiting porcesure
The Post-waiting porcesure
picking clothes→wait in queue
Get clothes checks→Entering the fitting room
Hand the cloth to waiter→check the number checks
●If they’re assisted in the dressing room, they will buy nearly two times what the unassisted buys.
Instead of eliminating waiting(which from our observation take the little time in one day, about 1-2.5 hours), I decide to design a product that can upgrade users' experience in stores.
Ideation
Portable sending siginal devices... Put on waist
Brooch
A bottom
Power Bank
The concept is to combine the number card with a function of getting help from the staff, also the product can automatically line for customers so that they can reduce waiting time.
Product
Silicon belt
The product is designed to link to the system of the shop. It can send a signal to the shop's computer system so that in every state, shoppers can use this call bottom to get anything they want.

User scene
The Pre-waiting
Push the bottom to join the queue without waiting
The In-waiting
Use the bottome as a fitting-room check.
The Post-waiting
Push the bottom to call the staff
Prototype
second try, with 3d paining technolog on the right side The sheld is made of silicon and the core is printed in plastic
Primal test is a failure,i try to mold silicon out of silicon, and it turns out too sick to pour into the mold
