ON THE COVER: The Trinity by Andrei Rublev. The
Trinity is the most famous hand-painted icon by Andrei Rublev and a wonderful example of Russian Orthodox icon art. This masterpiece is based on the hospitality of Abraham story from the Book of Genesis. It depicts three angels symbolizing the Holy Trinity – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit – sitting at a table. The icon was created in the 1420s and now is exhibited in the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow. (adapted from https://russianicon.com/famous-religiousicons-andrei-rublev)
VOLUNTEER HELP WITH DONUTS If you enjoy gathering after 10:00 am Mass for coffee and donuts, please consider signing up to help serve occasionally. It is quite easy, and a good family project. Donut servers work as a team, so if you need to trade Sundays because of travel or other events, we are flexible. Check in with the servers after Mass, or contact the parish office at office@straymondmp.org. OFFICE VOLUNTEERS There are many times when the Parish Office could use some hands and/or friendly faces. If you would be willing to help out when there is a mailing or other such project, or answer the phones and door for an hour or two, please contact the office at at office@straymondmp.org. We’re happy to work around your schedule and will call again if you are busy on a given week. VISION STATEMENT St. Raymond Parish is a family. As disciples of Jesus, we are “children of God” and “brothers and sisters in Christ.” Jesus himself says, “Whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother, and sister, and mother” (Matthew 12:50). We welcome all to belong to our Catholic family and to inherit with us in Christ the mission to preach the Gospel! MISSION STATEMENT St. Raymond Parish is a community united by our Catholic Faith as disciples of Jesus Christ. We seek communion with God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit through ongoing personal and communal conversion to Christ and a deeper commitment to the mission Jesus gives each of us to preach the Gospel. The sacred scriptures and sacraments of the Church sustain us. We dedicate ourselves to Truth and strive to grow in love of God and neighbor through community, prayer, study, and service, as we work by grace to build up in one another and share freely with others the abundance of magnificent gifts God has given.
