MUSIC THEME HOTEL LOCATION: MONTREAL,CANADA YEAR: 2019 TOTAL AREA: 96800SF
This is a luxury boutique hotel project which is located in Montreal downtown, Canada. Montreal has a rich musical and cultural background as a French-speaking area, so this project will be inspired by the local musical elements. The floorplan of this hotel will follow the musical rhythm which as a the central point spreads outward. There are two different spatial concepts to distinguish the experience between public area and the guestroom service area. The public areas on the lower level are lively and bright, like a large party scene where guests can socialize and enjoy music live. The upper floor area is warm and calm, like a private music studio where guests can enjoy their favorite music.
Concept: rhythm The way to express music is a variety of rhythms. When the rhythm is graphically transformed into a variety of arranged units, it can be circular, wavy and horizontal. These different rhythm forms are used to plan the plane of the space and the elevation of the decorative space.
Color inspiration: live stage
Inspiration images ( for public area- active party space)
Elevated Concept
“Hello, Montreal is a classical local music which described the origin of musical culture. Using the audio element of this song as a designed element.

Ground Floor
On the first floor which is the welcoming area, it provides guests with check-in, information consultation and luggage storage. The middle checkin area serves as the most important hotel image wall, extending through the wooden walkway from the entrance to the ceiling of the double high space just like a continuous rhythm. On the left and right area are the lounge and concierge where guests can rest and talk.

Lounge
Second Floor
The second floor of the public space is a buffet restaurant which encourages self-service. The layout of the dining area on the left and the right is also spread out in a way that people can communicate more effectively. In the decorative language, part of the same element as the first floor is more uniform hbecause the first and second floor are connected by the double high space in the middle.

Basement Floor
The basement floor is a live bar unique to this music theme hotel. This live bar will invite local music lovers to perform live and broadcast live to the TV in the guestroom. In addition, design it in the basement to maximize noise isolation. The layout is also a way to extend the point of the center stage with flexible seating surrounding the stage. On the right side is the wine bar area which connects the audience through the light strip.w

The third floor and above of the building are the guestroom floor with same layout. Each floor has four gestrooms for twin suites and four guestroom for queen suites. The elevator vestibule and corridor is a transition space from public event space to private room space, so the “rhythm” is slowed down in design. After entering the guestroom space, the lights will gradually become dark. There is a living room for listening to music and a music station that can work in the room specially.

FOLK ART MUSEUM LOCATION: DUMBO,NYC YEAR: 2018 TOTAL AREA: 41500SF
This project is designed for the American Folk Art Museum. The original building is located in Dumbo, Brooklyn, New York where has a strong sense of free local art. The forms of folk art are diverse, so deconstructive design ideas are used to find a unified design language to express the formation of art. “Pixels” are one of the common languages. This project will throughout the design of the elements of the cube include the ground façade and ceiling. In addition, the materials used in the interior space are blended with local building materials to preserve the original community atmosphere.
Central hall
Concept: Pixel / Inspiration images Decomposition: Decomposing a variety of artistic shapes into the most basic pixel states. Pixels of different sizes can be constructed in any form, so the cube has become a design language.
Model studying
Cube Box Structure A plane can be combined by squares of different sizes, just as an image is expressed by pixels that do not have one resolution. When the square is turned into a cube by pushing and pulling, this is the process of transforming the plane into a square box space. For the change between the different sizes of the box space, on the one hand, it corresponds to the need for different space functions, on the other hand, it will provide different spatial feelings.

Concept grooming area
In order to highlight the Framer’s Dog’s characteristics, the project brings the image of the farm to the store because that the company’s food is based on fresh farm projects. The farm huts on each layer in the store represent different functions. The farm lodge at the entrance likes a small dining car that is open to the public. Next, the farm room in the middle is a botanical garden. Finally, the farm house behind is the activity area of the customer.

There are three ways to buy dogs’ food at the store. The first is to buy takeaway products in the dining car window area of the entrance because that some customers do not want to bring their dogs into the room. The second is to enter the store to buy ready-made products. The third is to customize the recipe for the dogs and process it in the store. Bring the dog to the back of the nutririonist’s office, then pick fresh ingredients and process them in the store according to the recipe. In addition to the sales area on the first floor, the second floor also provides more additional services for dogs such as grooming.

CRAFT ART SCHOOL LOCATION: NOHO,NYC YEAR: 2017 TOTAL AREA: 31000SF
This project which located in Noho,NYC is to establish a fine art school for New York University. It is very regrettable that the handmade art has gradually been ignored and forgotten with the development of the industrial age. This craft art school will focus on handicraft courses and use a variety of original wooden materials to create a craft-friendly art university.
Concept Handicraft : The value and beauty of craftsmanship cannot be surpassed in the modern industrial era. This project emphasizes to create the feeling of original handmade craft by using the most authentic natural materials.
