From inspiration to re-thinking The structure derives from the study on the IBM Traveling Pavalion by Renzo Piano. However, this lab report is not a replica of a precedent project, but a rethinking on its building typology, a refinement on its structure system and adapting to the scale of the assignment’s specific site.

Each individual unit is strong both horizontally and vertically within the bay plane, but when it comes to the whole system, the structure might be weak laterally against shear force from wind and earth.

What if ... one of the units fail and cause the whole system fall like Dominos?

So, reinforcement:

Cables at both ends

Strengthened foundations and footings Strengthened joints between each unit and the main girder
