These tram improvements are a Think Tram project. Think Tram is managed by VicRoads in partnership with Yarra Trams and the Department of Transport to ŝŵƉƌŽǀĞ ƚƌĂŵ ƚƌĂǀĞů ƟŵĞ͕ ƌĞůŝĂďŝůŝƚLJ ĂŶĚ ƐĂĨĞƚLJ ĂůŽŶŐ the busiest parts of Melbourne's tram network.
dZ D^ĨŽƌŵĂƟŽŶ in progress Route 59 tram service changes from Saturday 7 January to Friday 13 January 2012 during tram improvement works on Mt Alexander Road. Route 59 trams will be replaced by buses between Stop 20 Melrose Street & Flemington Road and Stop 27 Essendon Tram Depot. The tram replacement bus will divert ĂƌŽƵŶĚ ƚŚĞ ǁŽƌŬƐ ŝŶ ďŽƚŚ ĚŝƌĞĐƟŽŶƐ via Flemington Road, Racecourse Road, Ascot Vale Road, Kent Street and Mt Alexander Road. Tram stops 22 (Boundary Road & Flemington Road) to 26 (Wellington Street & Mt Alexander Road) will not be serviced by trams or the tram replacement bus service. Please see the map for details. Route 57 trams will operate as normal. Routes 55 and 59 will run to a reduced frequency.
