Yarra Valley Grammar
Yarra SNOWSPORTS Yarra Valley Grammar’s Snowsports program, run in partnership with the Outdoor Education Group, offers three camps throughout the Term 3 winter sports season. The optional Development camp held over four days in the last week of the July school holidays focuses on coaching ski and snowboard skills. We aim to develop the students’ abilities in the context of racing and this in turn determines our students’ suitability for their chosen events. These programs are in preparation for the Victorian Interschool Snowsports Championship held annually at Mt Buller in Late August attracting a competitive field of approximately 175 Schools. From this competition, the top 15 placings in each event are eligible for entry to the National competition early in September. Yarra Snowsports is a parent group that supports the Yarra Valley Grammar Snowsports program. We organise social events and industry nights throughout the year. On the mountain, parents have traditionally been an invaluable asset supporting Team Yarra at the International Children’s Winter Games and as marshalls during the Interschool competition.
