WEAVERS COLONY PROJECT : ACADEMIC LOCATION : Yelahanka YEAR : 2018
“I have my own principles , which I am unwilling to abandon . I dislike falsehood and deceit . A building should be truthful.” - Laurie Baker
The project brief was to design a Low income group housing module for the Weavers Colony at Yelahanka. Weaving has been one of the most beautiful and rich culture of Bengaluru. The intent of the design is to create a space for the Weaving Community where they can live together and work together in harmony.

JUVENILE DETENTION CENTRE PROJECT : ACADEMIC LOCATION : MADIWALA YEAR : 2020
“The true measure of any society can be found in how it treats its most vulnerable members” - Mahatma Gandhi
The project brief was to design a center for youth offenders and detainees, along with the juvenile justice court. It was important to make it a safe space for them. Children are very impressionable and it is important to help them rehabilitate and let them back into the society as good citizens rather than to confine and punish them which will only make them more mentally unhealthy. The design attempts to create a new typology of correction facility that symbolitically merges the programs and space for incarceration, education and healthcare.
ZONING Forty percent of the land has been provided for future expansion which has been situated near the site entrance. This helps keep the centre private , safe and also away from the noisy and heavily dense madiwala market. A single road is provided throughout the site to access the different buildings for the staff and visitors.

The final form is a continuous oval shaped corridor with well lit spaces. There is only one opening which will be used as an entrance and exit reducing the security requirement., openings are given that lead to a huge courtyard in the middle, where detainees and juveniles can both walk freely and enjoy the open air which is also very important to one’s mental health.

URBAN DESIGN : MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT : ACADEMIC LOCATION : DEVANAHALLI YEAR : 2021
“The materials of city planning are sky, space, trees, steel and cement. In that order and that hierarchy.” - Le Corbusier
The project brief was to design a township for the residents of Devanahalli. The most common profession being farming, it was necessary to create a space for farmers to sell their fresh produce. The land being an agricultural land also gives excellent opportunity to provide cultivation spaces for the farmers. Thus a farmers market has also been added to the brief.
MASTERPLAN
