Drapetsona lies 2 km west of Piraeus, and 10 km southwest of Athens city Centre. The municipal unit has an area of 1.725 km2. Its built-up area is continuous with those of neighboring cities of Piraeus and Keratsini.

Drapetsona and Keratsini form a miniature city with its own singular character; it has something of the air of the large port, but it’s almost entirely working class, without the bougeois flair of Piraeus.

The decision to transform an abandoned industrial area in Drapetsona, Athens into a multicultural meditation space holds several significant benefits. By repurposing the neglected land, the project aims to reconnect the community with nature, promote multiculturalism, celebrate historical transformation, and enhance social well-being. The space will provide a serene environment for contemplation, while also serving as a meeting point for diverse cultures, fostering unity and understanding. Furthermore, it offers economic and environmental revitalization opportunities, attracting visitors and promoting sustainable development. Overall, this project represents a transformative endeavor that revitalizes the area, celebrates cultural diversity, and promotes well-being within the community.

The Columns create rhythmic shadows, and rhythmic natural lit openings, that guide one through this deep curved hallway towards the vanishing point. Additionally from the perspective of a first person viewer, the solids and voids are at their largest relatively to one’s position in space, and they decrease in scale as they get further away from one towards the vanishing point. These elements combined with the spatial moment of light, shadow and position in space, form a beautiful harmony that could be considered divinely inspired.

Application of Geometry in Classical Order Geometry has been used in a wide range of structures and design forms throughout history. The first confirmed record of geometric knowledge and its relationship to astronomy, humanities, and music is attributed to the ancient Greeks, particularly Pythagoras and Plato. Prior to the Greeks, however, many ancient civilizations left clear geometric footprints by employing sacred geometry in their constructions.

The Zappeion Hall is a neoclassical building which is entirely based on these principles.

My intention for the design is that by turning the existsting 12 sided water tank (dodecagon) into a circle, I was able to create the golden spirals according to the circles raduis. In order to mimic the arrangement of the Golden and Fibbionacci spirals that can be found in a range of plants, pinecones, pineapples, sunflower seed pods, and many others. Their intersections also create radial axes.

All Structural and design elements have been designed to be alligned with the sacred geometry Grid, in order to create harmony, balance, rythym and a sense of oneness

The golden ratio also known as the golden section, golden mean, or divine proportion, in mathematics, is related to “Fibonacci sequence. This is a numerical series found frequently in nature. It simply follows the rule that the next number is the sum of the previous two numbers, as follows: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, and so on.

If we divide any number in the Fibonacci sequence by the one before it, for example, 144/89 or 89/55, the answer is always close to 1.61803, which is the value of the golden ratio.
