There are lots of attractions in near the river front , such as the Verity River Museum, Lock & Dam 19, the Bridge Observation Deck, as well as the power plant, railways, and the highway bridge.These reveal the unique characteristic of the riverfront. The topography changes dramatiωlIy at the boundary between city and floodplain. The project site is located inside the floodplain near the Mississippi River, with the elevation change of less than 35 feet

SITE PLAN DESIGN WITH FLOOD--- LlVING
FLOODWALL
The design is all about the Living Floodwall. In the design , 1use the lold-line as the basic to frame the landscape , and create the zigzag Ilood walls. Inbetween the walls there are constructed wetland to serve as the habitat lor migration birds. The Living Floodwall system 门 ot only lunctions lor flood prevention , but also creates a new riverlront space for people's recreation , experience and interaction with natural. These flood walls are growing along the riverlront with many ups and downs , which provide visitors a walkable , Iresh and appealing landscape The design 01 Keokuk riverlront landscape locused on the value 01 sustainability. LANDSCAPE CHANGES WITH FLOOD Landscape is dynamic in different seasons. The wetland , Iloodwalls and plants appear above Ihe waler su阳e normally, but pa叶 01 them would be submerged during Ilood season. By showing waler level reaches differenl heights 01 the stairs or Iloodwall , this project demonstrates the dynamic 01 nature. and provides visitors the oppo同unity to observe and experience the changing landscape.
Flood control is the most important concern 01 my design. Rail traffic is an important channel 01 transportation lor the industrial plants nearthe Mississippi Rive r. By constructing the living Iloodwall, the land, buildings, and railways can be protected even when the water rise up to 25 leet above the typical level in Ilood season

Its major role is to dispose and eliminate the contradiction 01 the stree t, the lane and the site斗 three-phrase junction. While site has complex boundaries and large number 01 intersecting axe哩， the structure is designed on purpose 01 guiding the fl ow and being a landmark The triple-Iold pavilion is designed on the ideas 01 咛i Bo San Zhe", which means three ups and downs on the way. Using new Chinese style as its lorm, the pavilion is open to lour sides.
