December ...

As I sit here preparing the final edition of YCRG for 2021, my mind is swirling with emotions. First off - where on earth did time go? How can this possibly be December waiting eagerly to make her appearance? Was I just not “complaining” about Fall yesterday? sigh.. Life just does not seem to slow down - no matter how greatly we beg it too. Since my mother’s death in 2018, former holiday traditions have become a little more difficult for me to carryout. I have the best of intentions but at the end of the day - I simply run out of time and energy. Silently I breathe a small sigh of relief - one less painful memory I have to revisit. But this year - in spite of everything- in spite of the chaos and whirlwinds - pandemics and more - this year needs to be a time of revisiting those traditions and making new memories. Holiday parties, parades, Christmas baking and handmade gifts.. those are all on the top of my list for December. I love seeing the smile of each of my clients face when I pop in “with just a little something”.. It’s the personal contact - letting them know that THEY are important to me. Diet’s will always be there (Remember - January is always waiting with a gleeful smile for our resolutions). Make this season a time of special memories, connections, laughter, hot cocoa, caroling and enjoying the small things that truly matter.

From my family to yours, I wish you a most joyful Christmas Season. Thank you for supporting me on this journey! It is my honor to serve Yamhill County! Cheers~ Nikki
