about me

My first experiences with interior design came from moving between apartments in my early childhood, redecorating the new rooms time after time. I would also accompany my mother to work. I helped her design showrooms and furniture layouts, and loved observing her clients’ reactions to our work. Seeing one of my mother’s clients moved to tears by a newly remodeled house gave me a sense of wonder that was hard to come by in those years, and sparked my passion for interior design. At sixteen years old I signed up as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity to pursue my new calling. I felt my purpose was to create joy for people because my family had often needed help from others and I was now able to pay it forward. My desire to take this direction in my life led me to many difficult decisions, including dropping out of high school and convincing my mother to allow me to study abroad. With the sacrifices my mother made as well as help from a sponsor I was able to start following my dreams, and I studied harder than ever before to get accepted to a foreign school, where I could have better opportunities. At New York School of Interior Design I finally found hope for a career in doing what I love, and I cherish every opportunity to create something that will enrich the lives of other people. I believe that interior design can have a profound impact on the human spirit and mental health, it gave me hope and harmony, and my mission is to find new ways to share that with the world.

WILD WILD WEST Typology Mix Use: Boutique Hotel + Workspace Area

85000 sqft

Site

Chelsea Market West, 88 10th Avenue, New York,NY 10011

Concept .

WILD WILD WEST provides short-term and long-term accomodation with furnished working spaces for creators (media creators, designers, and artists). My design goals are to attract potential visitors to stay and feel the artistic mood native to NYC, and allow people to have a better working environment for interacting and collaborating with other creators.

Project Analysis 1.BUILDING: Chelsea Market West

3. Highline Park

VISUAL CONCEPT In most urban cities like New York, we miss interactive open places. Casual meet-up places are diminishing due to a high rate of real estate property. The WILD WILD WEST, living room formed hotel, is opened to the public to encourage interactive activities among others.

1. Safari

Address: 88 10th avenue, New York, NY 10011 (Above Artist Flea-Chelsea Market) Chelsea Market West was one of the buildings were constructed alongside the High Line specifically to integrate with it. This design allowed the freight trains that ran goods along the High Line to stop in on the second level of these buildings for easy loading and unloading.

2.SITE: Chelsea

The High Line is a public park built on a historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan’s West Side. Saved from demolition by neighborhood residents and the City of New York, the High Line opened in 2009 as a hybrid public space where visitors experience nature, art, and design.

4. Chelsea Market

•M1-5: M1 districts range from the Garment District in Manhattan and Port Morris in the Bronx with multistory lofts. •WCH: The Special West Chelsea District (WCH) provides a regulatory framework for the continued development of a dynamic mixed residential and commercial area centered around the public open space created by reuse of the High Line Park. •Manhattan Community: District 4 (Chelsea, Clinton, Hudson Yards)

New York City is one of the most attractive tourist cities in the world. What makes this city look more fascinating is the diversity of personalities, nationalities and ethnicities. The building hallway becomes walk-in through pathway.

2. Levels of Privacy Boundaries have a semi public and semi private character and carry features from both public and private sectors. Semi public or semi private is the transition zone between intimate space for human beings and exposed common zone. .

3. Living Room

Chelsea is located on midtown west where one of the most diverse community of artists and professionals in Manhattan. Zone: Manufacturing Districts (M1-5 and WCH)

The city is like “Concrete Jungle”

THE WILD WILD WEST is an artist co-working hotel extended from Chelsea Market. Chelsea Market Owner to Expand Concept. Google Inc. has finalized the purchase of New York’s Chelsea Market from property manager Jamestown.

Manhattan is known for its expensive cost of living. Sharing a house with strangers has became common in the city. The platform has formed a limited use of common areas such as the living room where the center of a house, an area for relaxing and interacting.

PARTI: Safari Pathway Monument staircase located in the center of the building connects all floors. It is accessible for both public and private users of the hotel. Main concept of the unique feature staircase is to appeal as a “sand dune”, leading to the top of the building. Each floor has transparent glass allowing users observe each other’s life. I wanted to provide spaces for inspiration and create innovative and interactive communal areas in the city. The place should be a stage for people to bring out potential talent and a place for connecting with others, providing opportunities and support.

HALLWAY/ENTRACE

3rd FL: Lounge, Restaurant, Retail, Bar, and Entrance

Hallway is treated with the same materials as the Highline park pathway in order to provide a continuing walking by experience. In my hotel, the pathway leads customers to experience different programs the hotel has to offer. The restaurant has a long custom dining table to feature as a holiday family dinner theme. It is to encourage users to feel comfortable as in one’s house. I believe the main characters of the living room is to bond and relax with other members; the movie lounge is a key feature.

Infinity Floor Pattern: Guiding customers to the end of the retail store

"Attract cutomers in short time; easy to walk through" The store is located in the most densely occupied ] urban park in the world. This is ideal for this luxury brand experience as diverse public exposure is very important to its universal theme. The park is filled with office workers on weekdays, city visitors on the weekends, and revelers during the holidays.

CHALLENGE 2 Wide Range of Age Group of Clients

“All users will have the chance to travel to another time and place"

SOLUTION 2

The design of the store appeals to consumers from old and new generations, and provides both with a comfortable and enjoyable experience. This is why the layout features the symbol of infinity; we have created a juxtaposition of human experiences across time and space through this device.

Three Time Zones: The Future Zone complements the Past and Present zones, all coexisting in the overall theme

entrance

“Time is perceived and captured in moments by individuals; however it is also an infinite concept” Realistic visual media is an exciting use of technology which is only going to grow in sophistication and audience. My vision is that interior design should expand its boundaries to be a subject of this media, allowing viewers to experience products and demonstrations with virtual marketing. This also functions as a practical pair of round staging areas for the 360 degree visuals provided by the VR platform.

03 LE SIXIEME SOMMEIL HOTEL Project Boutique Hotel Area

8010 sqft

Site

422 Washington St, New York, NY 10013

Concept My boutique hotel is based on the work of fiction “Le Sixième Sommeil,” (The Sixth Dream) by Bernard Werber. It is a novel about the concept of dreams, our imagination, and reaching a mysterious sixth stage of sleep - lucid dreams so powerful they border on death. The design will feature abstract concepts that evoke an image of a subconscious mind at work, as well as more tangible aspects representing conscious thoughts.

Project Analysis 6 Stage of Sleep 0 stage: Entrance to the sleep 1 stage: Drowsiness-physically mentally having relaxation. It lasts 5-10 minutes 2 stage: Light Sleep, Experience of Hypnosis with Sleep-aid medicine. 3 and 4 stage: Deep sleep, often found Somnambulism(sleepwalking).

“Then maybe, while we are sleeping, our spirits travel through Wormhole, so we can travel the times and places in short time??”

5 stage: Rem Sleep, having vivid dreams, and the most concentration, which can be founded in sports players. 6 stage: Sommus Incognitus, brain shows the more active wave while the body lacks in activity. The stage of approach to the unconsciousness and death. After wake up from sleep, we lost what we had in dream.

Fiction Based Hotel: Story Summary This fiction is defined as Philosophical Science Fiction, taken in Paris. The main character is Jacqueline Kline, a 28-year-old medical student.Jacques’ mother Carolyn is a famous neurophysiologist and a physician who studies sleep. Caroline discovered six stages of sleep in a secretive on-going sleep experiment, the unexplored outback was marked on the map by terra incognita, the sixth phase of sleep. However, in the course of the experiment, the accidental death of the subject Aqirishi leads to the dismissal of Karolin. The shocked Karolin disappeared without leaving any traces that evening.

Conscious The lounge and lobby are next to each other with boutique seatings. The ombre red and block color palette create the sexy vibe and dark sleek look. The grand stair cases are designed with metal drops creating an erotic and slow movement. These elements also make the three stories look cohesive, having them throughout the spaces.

cafe/bar

Consciousness to Unconsciouss The public cafe and restaurant areas are highly polished to reflect the artificial lights. The design creates the floating atmosphere to let visitors experience unconsciousness, almost falling into the REM sleep.

private lounge

Consciousness to Unconsciousness Private lounge is enclosed with custom glass walls and metal drops to continue the concept. Overall vibe is cozy and rustic to bring a comfortable vibe. This is the floor to show the transitions of a conscious to an unconscious mind from the story.

Color schemes and reflections bring the unconscious vibe. The design features the timeless and silent atmosphere to allow customers to feel relaxed.
