/‘lei / { LAYER } is my first portfolio design book. This portfolio book shows my artworks in my design life. I also choose layer as my concept of my book to show the layer of my artwork. I dedicate this book to my family as they always support me in studying design.

A U T H O R My enthusiasm about design brought me to President University to study Visual Communication Design for my bachelor degree. Fortunately, my parents fully supported me in studying this field. I was born in Pontianak in Chinese - Indonesian family. Living far from family made me independent and well-organized. My parents manages time well, I therefore had good time management while living far from them. I have huge interest in Food and Photography. I love capturing beautiful pictures of foods, especially dessert. Chocolate is my favorite flavor. I also cook and bake some foods during my free times. Cooking and baking are my hobbies besides photography. “Practice makes Perfect� always reminds me in trying and working hard to reach my goals. I will not give up for everything that I have started.

Objective
Designing personal identity including logo and stationary.
Challenge
Deciding logo and color to represent myself.
Solution
Using Y and S letters derived from my name. Border is chosen to build girly impression. Dark brown color is used due to my fondness for chocolate.

Snapple

Objective
Redesigning the label of Snapple.
Challenge
Combining the characteristic of several fruits into one flavor.
Solution
Redesigning a new logo suitable to the bottle and combining the mixed flavor by showing the pictures of the fruits. Gingham fabric was used as background for indicating picnic theme in my concept as Snapple is suitable for picnic.

Objective
Redesigning the package of La Fonte Pasta comprises of long, short, and pronto pasta.
Challenge
Finding the right picture of the pasta and designing all sides of the package which were related to one another.
Solution
Choosing clean and simple package to represent the simplicity of cooking instant pasta. Picture of cooked pasta was added to attract customers.

Redesigning logo and campaign for YCAI.
Challenge
Gaining information related to YCAI and representing organizational identity for people with disabilities into logo.
Solution
Designing pictograms underlining YCAI’s letters and using rounded fonts to build the impression of children.

Doing a photo-session for high-fashion magazine.
Challenge
Deciding the concept and choosing the talent suitable for our concept which were time-consuming.
Solution
Hiring tanned talent to wear our outfit designed out of newspapers. Tanned talent was employed in order to emphasize the uniqueness of concept through handmade outfit.

Doing food photography suitable for advertising hotel or cafÊ’s menu.
Challenge
Capturing the freshness and delicacy of the food. The room temperature affected the food tone and color. In addition, styling the food in order to get right compotition
Solution
Cooking the food at studio to maintain its freshness and manipulating its color using food coloring and cooking oil.

Objective
Designing new advertisement and POS (point of sell) for Genji Pie.
Challenge
Finding out the information about the product (logo, package, product variants, and real product picture).
Solution
Choosing season’s greetings as the main idea where Valentine’s Day and Christmas were both best seasons to greet people using Genji Pie (heart-shaped biscuits). Also, doing photo session to get pictures that suitable for our concept.

Making 35-second TVC of a product.
Challenge
Arranging story board and deciding talent and setting and backsound for TVC.
Solution
Recording the video from various angles. Teenagers were chosen as talents and teen song was used as backsound. Recording was done in outdoor area to maintain natural lighting.

Challenge
