CONTENT ASSIGNMENT 1 • PROJECT 1 | RESPONSIVE ARCHITECTURE ASSIGNMENT 2

• PROJECT 2A | SITE ANALYSIS + USER PROFILE • PROJECT 2B | ADAPTATION TO CONTE ASSIGNMENT 3 • PROJECT 3 |CO_(SPACE)

ASSIGNMENT 1 TASK 1 • We are distributed into different groups by choosing the spatial operation keywords. • Then we need to find and analyze an object / product / phenomenon that relate to this spatial operation. We need to understand how with this volumetric manipulation, this object shall result in a new function and value. After that, produce a creative image of this object to show its main idea and follow with a diagrammatic infographic to show how spatial operation is relate to this object.

TASK 2 •

We are formed into group of 3.Based on our research on spatial operation for the object, find the most suitable architectural precedent studies that relate to the data and drawing and do spatial exploration. We are to produce a series of architectural diagram and model of the selected precedent studies, analyzing spatial operation & condition, and investigate the formal and spatial characteristic of each work to illustrate and communicate

architectural spatial qualities.

TASK 3 •

Then further 6 spatial operation exploration in model with 6 operational keywords from task 2. Explain in diagram the spatial operation and condition that result with changes of spatial quality in natural light and scale.

TASK 2

TASK 3

ASSIGNMENT 2 TASK 1 •

We are in a group of 7 to do a site analysis at UCSI university

We are to determine physical context, circulation, program, sensory context, genius loci, history & future development, human & cultural and potential site selection & demarcation.

TASK 2 •

It is an individual task, we are to interview a student from SABE outside of studio 3 and another student from other faculties within the campus and we need to generate a students profile to analyze things in common and differences.

TASK 3 •

We need to produce a 1:200 site model and a 5 responsive massing model using

the chosen operation and conditional action from project 1 and test it out on our site.

TASK 1

TASK 2

TASK 3

ASSIGNMENT 3

After collected a set of site analysis data and explored responsive ideas towards the chosen site. We are to focused on site exploration and it is important to address how intervention fits within the larger UCSI KL campus and its student community as a whole such as the impact on vehicular and pedestrian circulation and connection or linkages to existing campus buildings .At the same time the respond to site context should have basic consideration on environmental design i.e. building material, natural lighting and ventilation, green energy, use of landscape etc.

DESIGN ISSUE

STUDENTS WHICH ARE IN SAME FACULTY AS STUDENT XY ARE FACING LOTS OF STRESS AND UNI DOES NOT HAVE A PLACE FOR ENTERTAINMENT AND REST.

DESIGN CONCEPT

TO CREATE DIFFERENT SIZES OF SPACE THAT CAN INCLUDE CERTAIN AMOUNT OF STUDENTS. STUDENTS MAY GET DIFFERENT FEELINGS AND DIFFERENT WAYS TO RELEASE STRESS BY ENTERING DIFFERENT VOLUME OF SPACE. INTERIOR PERSPECTIVE WHICH SHOWS THE ACTIVITIES INSIDE THE BUILDING

CO-ZY A PLACE THAT IS COMFORTABLE TO STAY. HELPS TO RELEASE STRESS BY GETTING SUPPORT TROUGH COMMUNITY AND VARIOUS TYPE OF ACTIVITIES.
