Something About Poland

Sometime ago, I thought that Polish scene isn't even a bit interesting. Really, even though I'm from here I used to listen to band only from other country. I don't know how it changed, but I'm really glad it did change. This scene is beautiful, just like any other one. You've got everything here, from melodic punk compositions to angry and tears squeezing emo noise. Some weird stuff, but I really dig it. And gig and festivals are no worse! So, let's see what's new and, in my opinion, really interesting and worth listening to.

GLAMOUR (hardcore punk, Warsaw)

So, this guys. I don't k now why I choose them first, but it's maybe because they had recently released their EP called "Glitter Stomp!". (if you don't have nothing to do, just go to their bandcamp page and listen to this EP!) If you have any chance to see their live - just do it. Worth it. They will give you everything you're looking for in hc punk. I promise.

TORPUR (goblin punk, cracow)

Have you ever wondered what Napalm Death would sound like if they were found by a bunch of goblins in World of Warcraft? Well, you don't have to imagine this any longer! Yeah, that's pretty much Torpur. But they aren't just like this. Raw, dirty punk from the city polluted by smog. They recently had released split w/ Mchy i Porosty, really good stuff. Go and check them out.

ANSA (Emocore, Ciechanów)

And right now, may I present you one of my personal favourites from Poland. They had released an album 4 years ago, but this is still one of the best things that I have ever heard from Poland. Everything is just perfect for me.

LØVTE (Dark Hardcore, Poznan)

So, LØVTE is brand new project founded by members of such bands as Deszcz, mojapolowa and Astrid Lindgren with singer Vittuma, who had earlier sing in Gina Deep, Shape Of My Fall or Antena Error. They are playing really heavy mix-up of hardcore and metal with melodic woman voice. Just amazing.
