Transforming Our Learning Community Our school has begun an all-embracing initiative to rethink the student experience and create a 21st century educational environment to stimulate learning.

The Case For Investment To provide the financial support for these vital and exciting enhancements and to strengthen our high school for years to come, the Yeshivah of Flatbush will raise a minimum of $30,000,000 in capital and $10,000,000 in endowment funds. These funds will advance two critical goals: â&#x20AC;˘ Transform our learning environment â&#x20AC;˘ Secure our future and ensure outstanding academics

A New Vision of Excellence Our school is being transformed in the following ways: •

New, modernized classrooms will allow us to cultivate curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking by offering a larger array of courses catered to each individual student.

New, state-of-the-art library/media center, student commons and conference centers will allow our teachers and guidance staff to meet our students in both formal and informal settings to map out an educationally effective and enjoyable high school experience.

New art and music centers will transform our current offerings and channel our students’ natural gifts.

•

New and improved science labs, educational centers and teacher workspaces will allow us to attract and retain the strongest teachers in the metropolitan area.

•

New Bet Midrash will provide our students with an updated center for Jewish education—a place for tefillah (prayer), focused learning, energetic discussion and personal searching.

Building Plan Overview 1

1. New High School North Building This building features a Media/Library Center for collaborative learning, a new gym, Bet Midrash, and dedicated spaces for college and Israel

guidance, additional classrooms, and music and art centers.

2. Student Commons and New North Building Lobby

A series of skylights bring in daylight along the entire length of this space. With a continuous series of bleachers and an information wall containing white boards, bulletin boards, and wireless access, students and teachers will have the opportunity to interact and learn in an informal setting.

3. The Ben-Haim Lobby This designed space now invites those attending events in the Khezrie Auditorium to mingle and meet, fostering a sense of community.

4. The Khezrie Auditorium This new auditorium is now a premier setting for the schoolâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s drama, choir, orchestra and band offerings, with up-to-date acoustics and lighting and handicapped accessibility.

5. The Laboz Lobby Yeshivah of Flatbush Blueprint For Excellence

Building Plan Overview This expanded space features improved security and a more welcoming and brighter appearance. The lobby will be connected seamlessly to the

new student commons.

6. Bet Midrash This updated space will allow for both small-group and classroom learning as we continue to impart a lifelong love of Torah to our students.

7. Library This modern space will include the use of digital technologies and spaces for independent and group learning as well as small collaborative learning and media spaces which will allow for specialized learning. This interactive space will allow our students to further explore their individual passions.

8. Facade and Entrance

The entry is enhanced with new landscaping, handicapped accessibility and an entrance canopy. The new facade is designed to bring increased daylight to the classrooms and provide superior energy performance.
