When I was told to

Make a CUBE

=6 By using cutter and UHU, six sides of the white cardboard will be guled together and become a CUBE.

But is it PERFECT?

CK — 44 —

When I was told to make it perfect, but

What is PERFECT?

Do PERFECT exist?

A perfect cube should consider its thickness, angles and the joining parts. The surface should be clean.

Farther ELABORATION I was thinking that if it is possible to use many many small cubes to make a large waterspout inside the cube. I also try to use cubes to create movement.

CK 12 — — 12

Then I chose two theme to

Farther ELABORATION I also throught of using the skills of origami to let the 2D surface become 3D object.

It may make the cube have both negative and positive space that make it more complex.

— 13 13 —

Testing Model

I tried to use folding to create negative 3D space on a 2D surface.

Do MY CONCEPT exist?

I also tried to use boxs to create a cube. Little cubes become a LARGE cube.

Reflection Discuss with my classmate about my ideas to find thing to improve and things that no having clear concept. Although I thought my concept is easy to understand, other may not think the same. My ideas are not that obvious enough. And my classmate also point out some wickness. I must make my concept look more obvious and correct the mistake that other told me.

16 — — 16

Reflection Observe my classmate's work to see if there arething to improve, things to learn and some interesting ideas. My classmates' work are so good to reference because they all have their own style in design that make their work stand out. I can learn from their stenglth. I may reference their style in design and make my own style show just like they did.

— 17 17 —

Idea improvement I change my idea, I use stronger contra that I try to make my cube be only HALF.

I simplify the layers so that the cube will looks more completed while space are complex.

When I was told to

Make a BASE

26 — — 26

Association of IDEA I try to use the stair to be the main theme of this base. I want to stair to have the same seperation as the cube to make it consociated.

— 27 27 —

Testing Model 1

28 — — 28

Reflection Daniel told me that my problem while designing is seperating the object too much. I always focus on the detail but do not care about the whole image of the idea while make my design do not look completed as others did.

And I am too focusing on the stair which is too simple. Daniel told me to think up side down, maybe it will come out other more special ideas.

It is true that sometime when we think the opposite, special ideas will come out

— 29 29 —

Idea ELABORATION

I may consider about the whole object, like how people will look at my model, maybe there are some steps for them to look.

Daniel told me to pay attention to the eye flow which will make the model more complex.

Testing Model 2

— 31 31 —

Reflection Although I try to focus on the negative and postitive square as a patern or a theme in this model, I still think my considence is not enough. I also think my model is on the same surface which make it look too simple. The focus points of my model are not ehough. People will be bored fast.

Make a PLASTER

By using

A part of the MODEL I think the most interesting oart of my cube is the folding part, because it create negative space.

Although it will be very difficult to make due to the thickness of the wall, but I must give a try.

Because only if I had tried, I can know if it works.

Reflection Danniel said the problem I always make is that I cant finish the whole testing model because I am scared of wheather my idea is ok. But actually I do not have to be afraid to make mistake because that is every designer would make.

Gain To ask what I had gained in this subject, I would say is the guts. Not to be afraid of making mistakes, try to break the rule

I used to be so scraed that my teacher do not like my idea so I will not do untill they say yes.

But now I understand that I should be more brave.

64 — — 64

Reflection There are always things that I can improve in the furture. First, time managemant is important, I have to work faster.

Second, I have to make sure my concept is clear for people to understand.

For a designer, I do not think there is perfect in the world.
