It was decided that the Media Team should present a balance of skills, gender, and nationality with the bigger share for the applicants coming from the hosting National Committee (3 Journalists and 2 Editors in total). Members of the Selection Panel voiced their opinion on each of the applicants, analysed their strengths and weaknesses and came to the compromise-‐based decision. Upon Editors’ request considerable attention was paid to the balance of skills within the Team. Prior to opening the Call, the Panel has decided upon the main criteria to be taken into account during selection process: -‐ -‐ -‐
Writing, proofreading, photography and video-‐editing skills as well as overall creativity reflected in application form; For Ukrainian applicants only -‐ contribution into the work of National Committee was viewed as a benefit; Overall gender and country balance of the Team.
I would like to mention that due to the fact that the Panel received many applicantions of a hight quality, the selection process took more time than expected. It is also crucial to emphasize that considering the candidacies of both foreign and Ukrainian applicants, the Panel remained fully unbiased and followed the principles set before the start of selection procedure. Finally, the Panel would like to thank all the applicants for the efforts they put into their application forms and encourage everyone to apply for the next sessions and Forums of EYP-‐Ukraine.
