This is a project for the competition for the National Library of Israel, in the heart of Jerusalem’s National Precinct. This area will serve as the intersection of government institutions, national museums, and the Hebrew University Campus of Giva’at Ram.
The Library’s plan is comprised of a horizontal prism, which covers the entirety of the plot, and whose top layer was designed as a panoramic garden. A vertical prism, a five-sided structure that includes the main hall for reading and research, is located on top of it.

Hosting the principal collection of Jewish writing in the world, the Library carries a symbolic role that is reflected in the building’s design. The Main Reading Hall, designed as a pentagon, is an homage to the Pentateuch, the foundation of the Hebrew written culture.

The Polonsky Academy is part of the Van Leer Institute campus in Jerusalem. The building is situated on a cliff facing South towards the Jerusalem Theater. Its Northern facade faces the central garden courtyard, which acts as the “heart” of the campus.
The building’s research activity is located on the two upper levels of the structure and includes researcher offices, seminar rooms and additional meeting spaces that open onto inner patios. The main entrance to the building includes an exhibition gallery facing the central
garden courtyard. The entrance to the floor below is through the level of the central garden courtyard and includes a conference room, a lecture hall, a cafeteria and the upper level of the two-stories library.

view from museum’s avenue
The Natural History Museum is located in the heart of the “Museum Boulevard” in Jerusalem. The competition’s brief requires to establish a joint platform for the various museums for professional cooperation and the shared use of facilities and services, while preserving for each one its independence. We decided to minimize the built mass and to leave a maximum of open spaces and prevent any blocking of views of the city
square natural history museum knesset & national library underground public path bible lands museum israel museum

sights. Most of the built mass is hid in the ground. The natural ground surface will be preserved to constitute a museum park open to all: minimal above-ground space with a maximum of extensive natural garden areas that will be used for various and dispersed outdoor exhibitions. To create a museum campus common to the Nature Museum, the Science Museum and the Museum of Technology, we have designed
a continuous linear strip, rythmed by several squares providing the distinct entrances for the various museums. The spine of the united Nature and Science Museum is composed of five structural modules. The modular method makes it possible to construct the museum in five stages, with each stage constituting a complete structural composition without impinging on areas not yet built.

view of the main patio
The existing school is characteized by an extensible building structure, as it is made of parts of various lengths. To clearly delimit the perimeter of the school, the project offers to extend it with two new volumes on the East and North sides of the existing building. The entrance’s patio enhances the quality of the distributing areas by providing them with natural lighting and transparency. The project takes this architectural typology and applies it to the new organizaimplantation plan
tion and the programmatic constraints for the extension. The inner courtyards become accessible to the students. These patios could even be used as some open-air classrooms. The project proposes to extend the existing hallways to form a loop system. Every classroom is then accessible from two different directions. A secondary entrance is created on the north, allowing an independent use of the gymnastic rooms.

This competition’s brief required working on the thema of the couryard building, on a site located down the Gurten hill, near Bern, to conceive 45 family housings on moderated rent, one kindergarden and one secured playground.
This project makes of the courtyard a living space, disposing in it all the functions of the program favorising relations between the inhabitants : kindergarden zone, entrances, loggias. By orienting the apartment’s loggias towards the courtyard, the
project reverses the classic typology of the courtyard building. The thema of the courtyard is reinterpreted until inside the apartments via the loggia which structures its organisation.

ground floor plan
This is a residential project for 130 housing units realized for a competition in Brünnen. The proposal merges the two parcels of the site in order to form one big unified housing plot, a “green island”, that will become a recreational area for its inhabitants and will enhance their social interactions. One typology, which allows for multiple possibilities, is developed for the apartments and offers extremely flexible housing. Two big loggias, that can
be converted into winter gardens, bring light into the apartment all along the day. A central and flexible distributive area becomes the heart of the apartment and can be used for various functions. The living space is then divided in five different areas that can be used according to each one’s needs. The loggias act as a solar heat recovery system during the winter and allow for natural ventilation and opening during the summer months.

LVPH Architectes Competition, 2011 - 1st prize Mandat d’étude parallèle in two phases Fribourg (FR), Switzerland Team: Paul Humbert, Valerio Sartori, Yaël Glinoer
The city of Fribourg invited us to take part in a competition to redesign “Pilettes”, an area of the city close to the station. The goal is to redefine the urban character of the place and the different functions corresponding to the needs of the stakeholders involved, while providing a high quality of life and use.
This project extends the area of study to a larger scale and integrates the two housing blocks into one big united ensemble. The Rue des Pilettes becomes a public and pedestrian area, hosting commercial and public functions on the ground floor. For pragmatic and economic reasons, most of the existing buildings are maintained.

Pully is a small town located on the Leman Lake, close to Lausanne. Its administration requested a proposition for redesigning a small existing recreative area along the lake, next to the port with a project for a new pavilion that sell ice cream, drinks and small snacks. The area also hosts a pier for the boats. This project proposes to make of
model views of the external amenities
this pavilion a recognizable element, a signal for the users. Its form is defined by three big awnings that offer protection from the rain and from the sun during summertime. These awnings and the metallic cladding give to the object its identity and make it immediately recognizable. The lake’s shores are also taken into consid-
eration and punctual interventions aim to make them more enjoyable and confortable. Benches, seats, transats and barbecue grills are integrated into the current concrete bench limit. This will offer to the users a closer interaction with the lake itself and a pleasant place to rest and enjoy the view.

Offices renewal. Interior design: new image for the 7th floor meeting room. Replacement of windows frames and installation of a shading device system.
project’s sketch
While working as an intern for Art&Build in 2007, I was put in charge of a project for their own offices: give a new aspect to the meeting room of the 7th floor. This is where potential new clients meet, it is the “image” of the office. Sobriety, simplicity and sustainability are the office’s key concepts to be represented.
The room gives access to a panoramic terrace with an impressive and wide view over the north of the city. The brief was to work on the image of the meeting room and its relation to the outside. It asked to change the window frames and the way to access the terrace, to add an efficient, electrical and adaptable shading device
system, a new heating system and better insulation for the room. The choice of a specifically thin and discreet window frame allows for a pure and minimalist line, which is reinforced by the light aluminium grids of the floor heating equipment. Three different types of shading devices have been proposed.
